Spoiler Extension

Hello Whitelaces, I am interested in your great <spoiler> extension. May I copy & change the extension for use (with a free license)? If so, where can I find it and how to install it? --Edwin de waterman 14:40, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the interest. I don't mind if you take it and change it... I actually stole the base code for it before I changed it.

Anyway, if you do make some improvements, please post them back here! As long as it will still work for us, there's always room for improvement.

The code for it is on this page: Template:Spoiler_block

Instructions for installing it can be found here: User_talk:Erig (don't use the code on Erig's talk page... it has been updated on the spoiler block template.)

Thanks. I've installed, tested, fixed bug (also on Template:Spoiler_block), modified and tested it again. All works perfect.

As for the 'hard' code: I've only added version number, die if no mediawiki and credits for version page:

# WikiMedia spoiler extension
# <spoiler> some text </spoiler>
# the function registered by the extension hides the text between the
# tags behind a JavaScript spoiler block.
# version 0.1
# (C) Copyright 2006, Brian Enigma <>
# This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share
# Alike 2.5 License. Some rights reserved.
# version 0.2
# Modified February 2007 by Patrick Delancy for use in TibiaWiki ( )
# Current version 0.2.1
# Modified February 2008 by Edwin Miltenburg for use in Illapedia ( )

if( !defined( 'MEDIAWIKI' ) ) {
        echo( "This file is an extension to the MediaWiki software and cannot be used standalone.\n" );
        die( 1 );
$wgExtensionCredits['other'][] = array(
        'name' => 'Spoiler v0.2.1',
        'author' => 'Brian Enigma, Patrick Delancy, Edwin Miltenburg',
        'url' => '',
        'description' => 'The function registered by the extension hides the text between the tags behind a JavaScript spoiler block.',

as for the other changes (to be) made: that is just 'soft' CSS code. :) --Edwin de waterman 04:06, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Some templates don't work on my userpages

Heylo Whitel~.
You're pro with templates and anything else that got to do with wikis. Can you figure out why some templates don't work on my userpages? Have a look at User:Alreth/Dog, User:Alreth/Evil Guard and User:Alreth/Raleigh_Thunderstone.

You have 4 templates on User:Alreth/Dog, if you remove one (I removed equipsset in preview) then it works. 4 templates is too much to load.. At least that's what I remember Whitelaces told someone else earlier.

Basically, yes, but it is not related to how many templates you use on the page, it's actually related to how many templates are translcuded in all the templates you use, and also how large the templates are.

If you look at the source of the page in your browser ("View"->"Source" or "View"->"Page Source"), then you will see one or more things like this:

<!-- WARNING: template omitted, pre-expand include size too large -->

And something at the end that looks like this:

Pre-expand include size: 2097127 bytes
Post-expand include size: 1044145 bytes
Template argument size: 91424 bytes
Maximum: 2097152 bytes

That means the total size of all the included templates is larger than that "maximum" value, which is set on the server.

There are a couple ways to handle this. The clearest option is to move some of the templates to separate subpages, especially if you are using the damage calculator template... it's really big (you can see an example of this on my character page).

Another thing is related to the Equips_Set template. Since it was getting so large with defense calculations, total weight, etc., I made Template:Equips_Set_Basic, which is much much smaller, and only shows the equipment grid without the extra stuff. You will see that Sadonic already did this for you on one of your pages (here)

Error Message

I've got a strange message on my talk page, and I have no idea what it means, could you help me out? The message is:

Error From TibiaWiki Jump to: navigation, search

The database did not find the text of a page that it should have found, named "User talk:Fire Assassin (Diff: 0, 0)".

This is usually caused by following an outdated diff or history link to a page that has been deleted.

If this is not the case, you may have found a bug in the software. Please report this to an administrator, making note of the URL.

How did you reach this error message? Did you type your name in the search box? Did you Enter the URL directly? Did you follow a link somewhere?

Your userpage looks fine when I click on your name in your signature. Can you let me know the exact url you are on when the error displays?

Map extension

Hey Whity, Weren't you working on a program (mediawiki extension or whatever) so if you have a map (like those on Mount Sternum Undead Cave I uploaded) you could point where every monster spawns. If you finished it, could you tell me how to use or link the page with explanation. Otherwise, are you gonna finish it? That would be cool.

^^  º Bennie º  ¤ Talk ¤  º Credits º  ^^ 15:50, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

I've been taking a bit of a break from Tibia, but I'm still here to support the TibiaWiki community. As far as that particular extension goes, it has kinda hit a road-block. For layout of the images, I was limited by the restrictions of DHTML and CSS, which is not consistently implemented in different browsers. I have finished the building-blocks of that extension, but I have not spent the time to overcome some of the layout problems I was having.

For now, it has been put on-hold as I take care of other things in RL. I expect to return and finish it sometime, but I can't give you any idea about when that will be.

I recommend that you keep your eyes peeled for other extensions that might serve that same purpose... I know that some of my extensions have sparked interest in other gaming communities, so they might end up producing something useful before I do.

Eduardo76 Translating pages

Warning Icon Yellow
The user Eduardo76 (talkcontribsbot contribsblock logblock) has vandalized the page Mage Outfits Quest/Spoiler. Please review their edits and take appropriate actions if necessary.

The user translated parts of the page to Spanish (I think).

I left a note on his talk page, but he didn't appear to be doing anything malicious.

About TibiaWiki subdomains

I've noticed there are subdomains on TibiaWiki as the following:, (tibiabot advertisement) and Is there a way to TibiaWiki take control over them?

Senna 20:55, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Strange. I have never seen those before. The do not appear to be "owned" by TibiaWiki, as in they each appear to be completely separate wikias.

I really have no idea. Maybe a Wikia support member can shed some light on this.

The fact that the most of the articles from are not updated since 2005 is weird too. How come? If TibiaWiki has moved to on this year?
