New style for regeneration table in Infobox Item

heya whitey

I was checking some food articles today, and came to think that the regeneration table on those pages looks really odd

I gave myself a chance to try to make it look better, so I went to my Dustbin and made a fix on the Template:Infobox Item

if you want to see how it looks, check my dustbin.. if you like it, and want to change the actual template to my version, you can get its source at this page

note that I did only change the regeneration table, nothing else, so changes will only affect food articles

bear hugs,

Nagatho Goldenflag (talk | contribs) 18:02, 20 December 2006 (PST)

sorry for the excruciating delay in my reply, but I think the one we have looks better than the one you made. Please keep trying! Any way we can improve the wiki is certainly welcome!

Regarding categories manipulation

How do I include a new monster category in the category list? (e.g. Dragons, Lizards, Monkeys, etc)

Thanks in advance,
-- Maverick the hunter 19:56, 27 January 2007 (PST)

Go to the creature template: and edit it.

Is that the category list you were asking about, maverick?

Plasmother's Remains??

do you have any idea where this come from, is it creature product, quest item, etc. you can see a pic of it here or you may log onto balera and visit edron, central circle to see it.

When i tried to use creature illusion, it confirmed there is a "The Plasmother" creature, since it "Sorry, not possible.", instead of "This creature does not exist."

Thanks for bringing that up, Neoarchon. Maybe this is a new "Slime" boss.

damage of weapons

Many weapon pages seem to have table like this:

Skill Max dmg PvM* Av dmg PvM* Max dmg PvP* Av dmg PvP*
60 200 100 100 50
70 225 112 112 56
80 250 125 125 62
90 275 137 137 68
*If knight has full attack mode and monster or player doesn't have armor

Why not doing it simply as template instead of having table written on every page? This would also make changes easier when it would not needed to go through every page to change a single word in the table. --Ville-v 10:02, 2 February 2007 (PST)

I agree... and it's on my list of things to do when I have time. I'll do it sometime soon if one of the other admins doesn't beat me to it.

-- in puris naturalibus
--  Whitelaces †  Talk †  -- 10:32, 2 February 2007 (PST)

If I may add, that table doesn't look quite eye appealing, how about you add colors like the other tables and take out that ugly cellspacing?

 Ψ Genosonic Ψ   Ψ  My Contributions Ψ   Ψ  Talk Ψ

I added the framework for this table to the items template (and made it look like the "Food regen" table), but I do not know what formulas were used for all of the different calculations. Can someone please confirm these formulas for me?

Against Creature (max): weaponatk / 20 * meleeskill + weaponatk
Against Player (max): "Against Creature (max)" damage / 2

Against Creature (avg): "Against Creature (max)" / 2
Against Player (avg): "Against Creature (avg)" damage / 2

These appear to be the formulas that were used on the existing tables, but they do not look correct to me. Anyone else out there know for sure?

--  Whitelaces †  Talk †  -- 07:34, 5 February 2007 (PST)

Using these calculations, I finished adding the table to the items template. You can see it on any melee weapon page.

Regarding an editor's work

whitey, as you might have noticed by now, user named Banana has been adding quest spoiling information on item pages

I'm not complaining about the user's edits, but since there was an agreement to keep spoiling information only on quest spoiler pages, I think there should be a new TibiaWiki:Policy paragraph describing this issue

I think it would prevent lots of bad edits on this wiki. anyway, that's just my opinion

I don't disagree with you, but policy changes are more difficult than one of the admins simply changing the policy.

I would suggest that you post a proposal on the Policy Talk Page, and then leave a message on Erig's talk page. After some discussion, we (or Erig, if he wants to) can decide whether to add it to the formal policy or not.

I agree with nagatho, since we decided to keep quest spoiling info from item pages, it's an unwritten rule which must be written down somewhere:) Otherwise nobody knows about it.

Concerning the images of female summoner and Mage outfits

The imagesfor the summoner and mage outfits are the wrong way round, you have the image where she has the potions belts as teh mage when that is the summoner and the one where she has ferumbras' hat addon you have as the summoner.

Just letting you know =)

I appreciate your concern, but this issue has been discussed many times since that update was released.

If you have a female character, you can see the correct outfit names in the "Set Outfit" window. Hiftu has uploaded screenshots of these outfits with their names, and you can see them on my talk archive.

It is possible that CIP will change this, since they do not "look" correct, but we will use the names that are assigned in-game until that happens.

Dutch Republic and brass shield

Hey there,

I found something about the brass shields.. they have their look, just like the weapon of the (old) "Dutch Republic", it can be seen on it's Wikipedia page.. - .

Hopefully something nice for "did you know"..?

Very cool, but that style of griffin is fairly common among family coat of arms, and apparently some national symbols... especially from the midieval period of history. There is a similary style of lion and dragon that are also commonly used, so I don't think the brass shield is paying homage to the Dutch Republic. Thanks for the idea, though!

Tabole adding false articles

Tabole has created the page Saruman klinthzor which is totally made up. I think he should be punished for that and the page deleted.
-- Xellos φ Contributions φ Talk 04:08, 12 February 2007 (PST)

I deleted the page you mentioned, but I do not see great malicious intent in his actions. He appears to have done more experimenting in editing the wiki than anything else.

I will give him a warning, and if he continues to make bad edits, he will be blocked from editing for a while.

no malicious intent? he's been recreating a personal article over and over again
also, he's using the creature template, which could get an unexperienced visitor to reading wrong information

hope you can do something about it,

I gave him a short ban. I still don't think it was very malicious, but he clearly was not obeying the established wiki policies, and was persistant in his actions. I gave him a short ban so that he might realize what he is doing wrong.

Tibia Age

I was just curious as to how you figured your Tibia Age

>{{Calculator/TibiaAge|<creation date here>}}

One day in Tibia lasts 1 hour or so, it is calculated out from it. --Ville-v 02:26, 13 February 2007 (PST)

Ville-v is correct.

One Real-Life hour is equal to 24 Tibia hours... this conversion was used to create the Calculator Template Template:Calculator/TibiaAge.

Regarding a few articles that I have stumbled upon.

I have seen an article regarding a gameworld where it says that the disadvantage of the servers are that there are so many powerabusers and playerkillers around. I'm wondering, is that information truly relevant? As a regular player of a PVP Server, I am safe to say that this is a problem that will appear in every kind of PVP server. Should I remove the information, in this case?

Also, I'd like to know if my contributions on the TibiaWiki are enough to make me get credited in the Credits page. Not that I strive for that, but it would sure make me feel comfortable knowing my hard work for this wiki has an ultimate recognisition.

Thanks in advance,
-- Maverick the hunter 16:09, 25 February 2007 (PST)

About the Libera page (and other gameworld pages), it is correct that there are PAs and PKs in all gameworlds, but maybe Some gameworlds have more than their fair share. It is very difficult to know that with any certainty. Most likely, it was written by someone who was upset over something at the time, and may not be any more true than for all other gameworlds.

On the other hand, I see no real reason to remove it, since it may very well be true. I do not have enough knowledge of the situation there to make any judgments.

About your contributions... Yes, I think you have been doing a great job. You seem to be very level-headed and considerate. You have not been very active lately, but all of your contributions have been good.

Please keep up the good work!

Hi there, you say on your userpage that you can rename user accounts but actually, you can't until [ this extension]. I've checked special:log and special:version and it looks as if it isn't installed. Myrtone=@ 05:58, 21 February 2007 (PST)

You are absolutely correct. What I was really saying is that I have permissions to rename users as far as MediaWiki security settings are concerned. I only mentioned it because being promoted from sysop to bureaucrat in mediawiki is not truly a large change... I guess I was really just filling space.

Female Mage and Summoner

Please get it right, teh female mage and summoner addons are incoorect, the female summoner has a potion belt but you call this the mage, an the female mage has the ferumbras hat but you have that asthe summoner.

The correct way is :

Female summoner : Has a potion belt and tiara

Female Mage: Has the wand and ferumbras hat.

I understand what you are saying, but according to the Tibia client... you are incorrect.

Hiftu supplied a couple screenshots that prove it. They can be found on my archived talk page:

I agree that they appear to be wrong, but the most recent official information we have indicates that the mage is the female with te potion beld, and the summoner is the female with the wand.

There was some confusion because of a news article that contradicted this, but the actual outfit names used in the Tibia Client are the ones that we will use here.

Summoner and mage

i know that in the PATCH is it but if u look in this link, a official voting of with a SS of all outfit, males and famales, u can see that the names is in the correct outfit [1]

and other the male summoner and the famale summoner, the missions is the same, why change the class, if the mission is the same?

look the link and after analise the case

Yes, I am fully aware of that news item (you may notice that I linked to it in the earlier discussions about these outfites). There are multiple places that these get confused in-game. It appears that CIP had some original intent to make them one way, but then they got confused in other places... Here are the defenses for both:

Summoner Female = Potion Belt and Tiara Addons

  • Appears to match the Male version
  • Has the same methods for obtaining addons as the male version
  • One official news article names them this way.

Summoner Female = Wand and Hat Addons

  • Kalvin (NPC in Venore) mentions where to go for addons.
player: Mage Outfit Addons
Kalvin: Great for wise old male mages as well as for pretty enchantresses. If you are looking to earn addons, ladies should take a stroll in Port Hope, whereaselders should explore the Dark Cathedral.
player: Summoner Outfit Addons
Kalvin: Great for young mages and ladies who love witchcraft. If you are looking to earn addons, gentlemen should take a stroll in Port Hope, whereas ladies should explore the Dark Cathedral.
  • The Tibia Client explicitly names the outfits, and they match this setup:

Hiftumage Hiftusummoner

Conclusion Even though they appear to be incorrect... all "official" information that we have indicates that the Female Mage outfit has the potion belt addon, and that the Female Summoner outfit has the wand and hat addons.

As with every other point of information in this wiki, when there are discrepancies, information available in-game is always assumed to be correct.
