about the food pages I edited before you made them look nicer :D
Hiho I had made account with tibia wiki just the other day and my first big contribution was the food gain rate differences between the vocations which I had worked out with my calulator and putting it on a notepad
I know im not the first ever to figure out the gain rates lol :P
Waht im curious about is am I the first to bring it to light by putting it on tibiawiki (if im the first for that thats pretty darn cool ^.^), That calculator you had used to replace my edits to the food pages, was it around from before?
but anyways thanks for makeing it a lil cleaner and sharper presentation
Im a bit of a newby in the webpage editing hehe :P
On my home server of libera I had been telling my friends about the different gain rates and helping them with being efficient with their rune or ammo making for awhile, most the time it was long and drawn out trying to get it out saying a bunch of calculations :P
This addition to tibiawiki makes it alot easyer
Nice to have you around!
Actually, yes, the calculator was already there before, but it was never (obviously) used on the different food pages until you put it there. The only thing I did was to make it part of the template, so that we don't need to change everything and re-calculate them manually... it also keeps all of them looking the same, and with the same information... continuity on the site is very important to useability.
Thank you for adding that template i couldt find it
Kind Regards, Dille 06:12, 1 December 2006 (PST)
No problem, all of the templates (creatures, items, etc.) can be found on the TibiaWiki:Standards page.
Preference page needs corrected
Mozilla / Firefox / Safari: hold down Shift while clicking Reload, or press Ctrl-Shift-R (Cmd-Shift-R on Apple Mac);
With Firefox you use Ctrl-F5 to do that also.
Yes, Ctrl+F5 will also work, but Ctrl+Shift+R works for all three of those browsers, and saves a little space in that paragraph. If Ctrl+Shift+R was incorrect, then I would change it, but I think it is good the way it is.
List of items used for addons part 2
I was thinking about making a list with each creature product, and discribe all the addons/outfits you need them for. I hope you understand this, I can give an example: Red dragon leathers: Hunter outfit. If you want me to make a page like this, tell me. But I need a new template or what ever thats called, and I dont know how to do that o.o
I think that would be overkill.... and would add another page to maintain.
Currently, you can find all of the quest spoilers (that list all required items) by following the Outfits page. Going the other way... people have added the outfits on most of the items pages. If you're not sure, you can always check the "What links here" list (link at the bottom of the item pages).
There is also the page List of Items Used for Outfits and Addons. It doesn't specify which outfit or addon, but is a complete (I think) list of all items needed for outfits or addons.
I have mixed-feelings about listing these quests with the items anyway....it borders on quest spoiling. I would much rather just leave that information in the spoilers.... the information is still accessable, but someone won't accidentally "stumble onto it." Some people don't like spoiling quests... they'd rather figure it out on their own.
Not quite regarded to the TibiaWiki but ....
Why don't you become a tutor? It is indeed a fortune to find someone so knowledgeable about Tibia that I am certain you would make a decent addition to our community. What do you say? I really would like to see you as a tutor! :)
Thanks Maverick, I appreciate the compliment.
Actually, I did take the tutor test almost a year ago and I didn't pass. By the time I was able to take it again, I decided that I wasn't completely sure I wanted to be a tutor.
I guess I might take the test again, but I won't be too disappointed if I don't pass it again. I really just enjoy playing, and my personality lends itself to helping other people when they need it. I can do that without being a tutor.
I would take a GM position if it was offered to me, but I'm not sure how all of that works, and I don't know that I would even be qualified.
- Maverick - tutroship is no longer about being a knowledgable tibian, any scum diddy and harry can pass nowadays. A quick skim through the guide during the test and you're a tutor. Now it's all about becoming a senior tutor to report posts, or a gamemaster to ban "noobs" as they say. Day by day the tutor position is being mocked and day by day it's becoming less appealiung to those who earnestly want to help. Besides - do modern day tibian deserve mental enrichtment? Do they deserve they help we'd willingly offer a person who'd say thank you? Most tibians are out for themselves, it's sickening and belive you me - never pass the test.

Wow craggles, that's a pretty cynical viewpoint. I have found a pretty good niche of friends that don't fit your description (there are always exceptions, you know), and I certainly hope that we're not the minority.
I personally would love the opportunity to help cleanup tibia a little. I have truly enjoyed playing (no sense playing a game if you don't have fun), and if things are as bad as you say, I hope I could fix it a little, even without being a tutor or GM.
Ahhh... "Post a comment", eh?
Hohumm... Arshalo here. =)
Well, I never realized that this "TibiaWiki" thing was a community.
I see some of my stuff is already here, among others the formula for calculating experience recieved when killing players on PvP-enforced worlds. I found out by searching on Arshalo on Google, and one of the hits was that formula. I couldn't find my name anywhere on the actual page though, so I don't understand why it linked me there. =)
Anyway, perhaps you are finally the right person to talk to about getting some facts out to the people! It cost me alot, but I have got the correct numbers to even the more important spells to verify (like ultimate explosion or sudden death). I think you noticed that from my last post (sorry about editing instead of posting, I didn't know how to do this back then... In fact, I still don't know how I ended up in this page), since I think I saw some changes in the "Recent Changes" part, where you had changed some numbers and added "thanks to user:Arshalo". =)
I tried to find someone with a "big" Tibia-page, to construct a very user-friendly calculator in HTML or something, for example Erig, but couldn't find anyone. I also tried to get TibiaNews to put the damages for each spell up on their site at the spell-list, but I think they somehow have a problem with me.
I'll try to catch you on Honera sometime. I guess we could talk through this community meanwhile, although I must say I find it rather... well... not so user-friendly perhaps. =)
Oh, and please post something here or on my "Talk-page" so that I know I am in the correct place writing stuff. Hehe...
Hey Arshalo. Yup, this is the right place to discuss things.
In the wiki, we can't actually put a typical HTML form for the damage calculator, but we have all the calculations embedded in templates (check it out at Template:Calculator.... also see an example on my character's damage calculator page: User:Whitelaces/Tavin Flavura/Damage).
The primary difference, is that you need to have an account on the wiki, and you have to add the calculator to your user page. No need to re-enter all of the information every time you visit... only when something changes (level, magic level, etc.).
Nearly every active wiki user (and many inactive ones) have the calculator on their userpage. I find it to be pretty convenient.
It's great to have someone already figure out the calculations. I have been trying for months to get people to send me data (see Template_talk:Calculator), but I never took the initiative to do it all myself. We (at least me for sure) really appreciate the work you put into it. It will be put to good use on this wiki.
Hi, about animated monsters.
I have gotten the images of the animated monsters and I would like to upload them to the Wiki, but I was wondering, should I wait until the official update is released?
-- Maverick the hunter 08:01, 8 December 2006 (PST)
Please do. If you have the correct images, and they are animated, then it would be great to get those in the wiki.
About your "collection" of items
almost all of the game tokens can be found at one of the game rooms present at kazordoon or most cities... user:marcelovisky
Thanks for your concern, but I did actually know that already. I just haven't taken the time to go grab them.
Also, many of the items I just need to go down and buy them from an npc, but I'm usually not very concerned with stuff like that when I log on. One of those things where I have to think of it at the right time.
I'll get all that stuff eventually. There's really no rush for me :)
I made a mistake
If u wanna delete the pages : Avenger and User:Dille/Trashcan and move the Ananger to Avenger. Allready thank you >.< damn mistakes from my
Kind Regards, Dille 07:21, 9 December 2006 (PST)
It's okay... we all make mistakes sometimes.
Looks like DM already fixed it.
About the NPC Padreia
I have made a list of what she sells... it was quite easy but consumed some time... Please if you can make it easier to see as I am not a expert at wiki :)
No problem. The one thing you forgot was the price for the spells, but I'll add them.
I also think that it would be better to have them arranged by spell type, instead of only by level. Maybe most people will disagree, but it can be changed again if everyone wants it to be.
Winter Update 2006-Quest Spoil
I have reading some forums and there is some people who will delete all spoil about the update quests which appear in TibiaWiki, in order to be the "only ones" who know the way to reach the prize.
My question is, there is any way to prevent this?
I'm sure they will do it, because they did it before, with the page about Gamel Quest. They deleted that page for their own profit, till they was tired of it ¬¬ I checked the page and I saw that you have to "Reverted back to previous version since important information was removed".
And I think that it is unjust not only for the users but for the authors of the pages.
Yes, if it becomes a problem, I can protect the page from edits, but I prefer not to protect pages unless they need it.
Thanks for the heads-up!
What do you think, is the Slime an elemental or poisonous creature? in my opinion it's an elemental, and I was going to change it, but I wanted a wise guy to confirm it first ;)
elements are : water,wind,fire.earth
not slime ;)
Kind Regards, Dille 05:23, 12 December 2006 (PST)
I agree with Dille, slime is not an element. Good question, though! I'm glad you asked about it.
- I have to disagree - I class elements not as what the greeks thought but just a being made of a single consistant substance. So hellfire warriors - to me elemental - water elementals - elemental (obviously) and slimes - elemental. Another sign I use to define elemental is the fact that they turn into their element - it shows to me they are simpley poessed masses of that element. Another - slimes don't actually poison you, sure their entrails may poison you but it's your fault if they do. Also - I find poisonous monster have poisonous attacks. Hope this helps
I still don't think slime is an element. Even in the books in-game, the elements are defined as water, earth, air and fire (see The Great Creation 2 (book)). Slime is actually a composite substance (contains water and other materials), so it really can't be an element.
I understand your argument, that they don't really have "parts", but are made-up on only one substance, and that they turn into a puddle/poison field when they die. The main reason I don't think they should be called elementals is because the word "element" has a different meaning in-game and it will be a confusion of terminology.
Update is here and a small gift for the TibiaWiki!
As I have aforetold, I have updated all the new monsters animated pictures to the pictures database, and I have also gotten all the new sprites of the new items and everything from this update. If there is anything left, *please* let me know! :)
-- Maverick the hunter 13:01, 12 December 2006 (PST)
Awesome! Thanks for doing all of that. It definitely makes the wiki more valuable!
Due to the Christmas 2006 Update, I have enabled $wgUseFileCache. This variable will cache pages to disk for non-logged in users. However, I can see this effecting ParserFunctions somewhat, and possibly included templates, etc. For example, if a page uses ParserFunctions to show the current date/time, this won't be reflected in the cached version of the page. Again, this is only for users that aren't logged in.
I will leave it this way for now and see how it goes. --Erig 17:59, 12 December 2006 (PST)
That sounds like a great idea. I think it will help alot. I also don't think that most users will even notice (as long as it gets turned off in a week or so when traffic slows down a little).
Have you seen the message I put on the bug reports page about the job queue?
Ip ban this user plx
Terror Bird he is delete-ing all quest spoilers... just look
Kind Regards, Dille 06:55, 14 December 2006 (PST)
I also got a request for a ip ban, Kristopherhall2 because he deleted the Wyvern page once and added nonrealistic loot.
Bennie 14 December 2006 16:07 (CEST)
I don't ban people lightly, but intentional destruction of wiki articles will not be tolerated, especially when there are so many edits happening from the update and it is already difficult to keep up with edits and verify the accuracy of information.
Thank you for bringing these users to my attention. Terror Bird was clearly a Sockpuppet, and I am suspicious that Kristopherhall2 may also be a sock puppet account (based on the user contributions for these accounts and the date of creation).
I gave them both short banishments (1 week), so that they cannot cause more problems until after things have settled down a little from the update. If they cause more problems after their ban has expired, then there will be a more significant punishment.
On a special note: Terror Bird apparently does not approve of quest spoiling. I also think that quest spoiling does take some of the fun out of the game, but policy on this wiki is decided by concensus of active users, not by individuals. The discussion about quest spoilers on this wiki started very soon after the wiki itself was created.
I will sum-up the outcome of that discussion here.
Because quest spoiling is not against tibia rules and TibiaWiki is not a supported fansite (http://www.erig.net/ is a supported fansite, not the wiki), we do not specifically forbid it on the wiki.
Since quest spoiling is discouraged by CIP and many players prefer to discover quests on their own, the quest spoilers are ONLY allowed on clearly identified quest-spoiling pages. This way, a user cannot accidentally read a quest spoiler, it must be an intentional action on their part.
For CIP's official view of quest spoiling, see the Official Tibia Manual (http://www.tibia.com/guide/?subtopic=manual§ion=quests#questspoiling)
Just for your information, one of those spoil deleting dudes is my in game friend (he's a tutor) and he hates quest spoiling, true role player etc. but ofc you did the right thing ^^ he annoyed me when spamming "wtf they spoil everything" in PM, but now he dropped this subject lol /Art Featherpitch
ban this one to Jugger'naut
On this note of spoiling, i think some things are definitely out of hand. As stated in the original spoiling discussions here i prefer a spoil on a safe site to a hack site. But i think we should make some limiting measures such as not complete step-by-step instructions but leave some things to be found out once there. So only give map directions, not a picture of the place with everything marked. This is already true for some spoilers so it would only mean to cut back on a few, particularly newer ones. I know what you said previously but do you think this is feasible or good for the role-play and wiki?
--DM ><((°> Contribs <°))>< talk to me 18:36, 17 April 2006 (CDT) 21:13, 15 December 2006 (PST)
Information wants to be free. I agree with Whitelaces on his assessment of quest spoiling. On another note, if quests are so easy that it takes a few days on a test server to solve, then perhaps you should be asking CipSoft to make harder quests? Then again, Knightmare has already said there is stuff out there that no one has found, or those that have ARE keeping quiet, so there's definitely hard-to-find unspoiled stuff out there. Maybe the "true roleplayers" (and I use that term lightly) should actually try a bit harder? --Erig 23:38, 15 December 2006 (PST)
If people don't like the quest spoilers they should stop reading them. This is the only thing I dislike about wiki, anyone can come in and tear the place up.
Bug at main page
The main page is acting strange for me .. the "recent updates" at the bottom of the page got stuck on december 13 , any idea how to solve this?
update: I post here and it's gone -.-
I've just posted the same thing in Talk:Main Page
Mocca-Kahve 01:32, 16 December 2006 (PST)
It appears to be fine to me. It may be a result of erig enabling the $wgUseFileCache flag (which caches pages on the server to reduce the processing required to display them).
Since you said it works sometimes, I'm more inclined to think it is simply cached on your computer. Try forcing a refresh of the main page (CTRL+R or CTRL+F5 on most browsers).
Regarding the quest spoiling about the items needed
I know there has been a great commotion regarding the quest spoiling of the new quests, wiki vandalism among other disastrous events. However, I would like to know if it is possible to NOT show what is needed in the new quests? For example, I have added the Death Ring as "Who knows why has it been put back in the game?" in the description to add some kind of mystery around it, and now I see it and it's blatantly saying what do you need it for. I don't think this is really appropriate, seeing as how it is quest spoiling without prior warnings, unlike the quests that you can choose to either see the spoiler or not, so those who see it by chance not entirely seeking for the quest spoiling end up knowing it without meaning to do such a thing.
On a post scriptum, I'd like to add that some users are doing the same in more than the item I've mentioned, I've edited it ... if one desires to see the items needed, he can go to the corresponding article that details all the quests needed, am I right?
There is also a few users around (or perhaps a bunch of sock puppets) adding the link for a brazilian photolog, whereas it is all about quest spoiling and other illegal cheats as well, the usernames are stated below by Eleanor and a few other users.
-- Maverick the hunter 08:54, 16 December 2006 (PST)
I completely agree with you. I have never liked adding quests to the items pages, because it is a mild incarnation of quest spoiling. If anyone is not sure what quest an item can be used for, they can just check out the "What links here" and see if that item is linked from any quest spoiler. Pretty easy.
Lizard Template should be renamed maybe?Hello, I'm talking this to you, because you're the only one I know it's an admin. I wrote already on Template_talk:Lizards ... Well, Lizards maybe should be renamed to Reptiles, I saw that when I see Wyverns, it's just strange that Wyverns placed as Dragons, well, they really look like, but Wyverns are big reptiles with wings, not dragons... Also there're many monsters that are reptiles, like Snakes, Cobras, Tortoises (all kinds), Serpent Spawns (not sure if a serpent spawn is a reptile :s), and maybe some others that I'm not remembering now.. and so Lizards are reptiles too, so why don't make Reptiles template to put then all? Just rename lizard template.. it's enough I think.. thanks
----, December 17th, 16:11 (GMT -03:00)
The wyvern is a type of dragon with two legs and two wings. The rest of its appearance can vary, such as appearing with a tail spade or with a serpent-like tail. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wyvern)
Apart from that i'll no no real opinion on renaming the template. Lizards are reptiles such as those other creatures you mentioned, but then again they kind of have their own familly. Different kinds of lizards in tibia, just like minotaurs and orcs.
A wyvern (or wivern) is a winged reptilian legendary creature often found in medieval heraldry.
In popular culture, the wyvern is sometimes shown as a non-dragon creature with dragon-like traits.
I just got it from your link, and believe me, I've studied this abit in past years due to some RPG's I played, and wyverns are LOOK LIKE dragons, but are NOT dragons.
I don't see why NOT making a Reptiles "family"...
----, December 18th, 16:04 (GMT -03:00)
I'm not sure about Wyverns in popular culture or mythology, but according to CIP's official description of the Wyvern, they are explicitly described as not being dragons.
About the Lizards page, I think it should stay like it is. "Lizards" is the only name I can find for the lizard people that inhabit Chor. Yes, they may also belong to a larger group called "Reptiles", but I can't find any other names for the Lizard people.
I'm okay with adding a new page for Reptiles, but I think the Lizards page should stay.
Banishment of a destructive user

I wasn't around when this was going on. Thanks for taking care of it, User:DM.
Deletion of unnecessary templates requested
you might have noticed I've been away for a while.. the matter is I became a tutor, and there are several things you have to do as one, so I've been really busy
anyway.. check Category:Spell group templates.. With the new Runes and Spells templates, the other ones have become obsolette, so I'ld suggest you to delete them (unless you want to keep the mfor future reference)
in order to make things easier for you, I'll list them below:
have a look at them and tell me what you think of my suggestion
I've also corrected some mistakes in the Spells Template
guess that's all.. needing anything, stop by my talk page
Creature categories are really in need of an update.. I could be the one to give them a boost, but I have no idea about where to start from or what should I do..
for example, Template:Creature and Template:Creature Types both sound useless in my opinion.. I would like to create a template to substitute both, but I don't know how it should look like (still I'm really lean to it being similar to Template:Items or Template:Runes)
if you can think of anything, let me know here or at my talk page
Regarding my work (?)
I've been wondering if I'm doing a decent job in this Wiki, I'm hardly ever noticed if I'm making a mistake and whatnot. What do you think? Am I doing a good job?
Thanks :) -- Maverick the hunter 05:46, 19 December 2006 (PST)
From what I have seen, you are doing a good job. I have not noticed any inaccurate edits from you, and you are patient and courteous when discussing things with other wiki users.
Keep up the good work!
