Can't protect articles?
Why I can't protect articles? I tried protecting the spoiler template but when I press the Confirm button, it just sends me back to the page and it stills unprotected.
No idea, I've removed and re-added your sysop flag. See if that helps? --Erig 20:13, 12 May 2007 (PDT)
I think that worked. Thanks
Hey Erig, with this new update you have forgotten to include the permalink system in your house userscript, so it points to a blank page saying "Invalid house id.". Plus, I would like to know if you want me to do what I did in the Summer update of 2006 to give you the commands so you can copypaste into your servers to update the exp so your level script can be changed accordingly.

Hi Erig, I just saw you deleting the tip of the month about the TibiaCam. A question occured to me, is it actually illigal? I mean, doesn't the Tibia Rules say something about using programs which is illigal?

TibiCam is not illegal, however it isn't supported by CipSoft either. I haven't seen the content of the article so I don't know why it was removed, however that it's just not supported/maybe not safe should be enough reason for doing so.
-- Xellos φ Contributions φ Talk 09:26, 18 August 2007 (PDT)
Like Xellos said, TibiCam does not violate Tibia rules, but Erig removed it because the source is not freely available. It is for everyone's protection, to prevent people using the wiki to promote or distribute hacks or cheats.

Hello Erig. I have a question, concerning sub pages (e.g. my character subpage User:Pudd Knight/Pudd Knight).
The fact is, every time I want to open a sub page, it takes a lot of time. It may look like I'm lagged or something, but I can always keep browsing the wiki in other tabs, while the sub page keep loading forever. I through it was just lag, but it happen to me everytime, and I'm sure it's not lag. I think it's something with the wiki, I'm not sure what. But normal pages load very fast, sub pages, for me, take a lot of time. You know what could it be?
---- 13:24, 11 October 2007 (PDT)
This is actually due to the content of your user sub-page, especially if you are using the character and/or Equips Set templates. I had the same problem loading your page. To fix it, you will need to use the Equips Set Basic template or maybe split the damage calculator onto a separate page, etc.

DPL Uncategorized Articles
There seems to be a small DPL issue. On The Old Widow page, it seems that the DPL list is attempting to list uncategorized pages?
I'm not sure of the root cause yet, but the documentation suggests creating the optional DB view to overcome this problem. I'll try to see if I can figure out the real problem, but here's the SQL to create the DB view. Be sure to change "prefix_" appropriately, and double-check the table names if they are non-standard in the wiki's database.
CREATE VIEW prefix_dpl_clview AS SELECT IFNULL(cl_from, page_id) AS cl_from, IFNULL(cl_to, '') AS cl_to, cl_sortkey FROM `prefix_page` LEFT OUTER JOIN `prefix_categorylinks` ON page_id=cl_from
-- Magister Mundi sum!
-- -- 12:05, 1 November 2007 (PDT)
Nevermind... I think I figured it out.
The problem appears to have been blank input parameters that DPL interpreted as "uncategorized articles".
Creating that view wouldn't hurt anything, but it's probably unnecessary.

Respawn map extension
I wrote a MediaWiki extension to use for making simple respawn maps. I posted the code to Template:Respawn Map.
It's obviously up to you if you want to install it or not, but you should be warned that I have not been able to test it at all, so I'm guessing it probably won't even work at first. Anyway, here's the quick way to install it if you want to:
- copy/paste the code into a new file "respawnmap.php" and place it in the MediaWiki /extensions/ folder.
- put the following line in the LocalSettings.php:
Let me know if you install it so that I can test it and make any changes necessary.

Well, I can't say I'm surprised, but it doesn't work. There is some kind of PHP error, but the error information is hidden (for obvious security reasons).
I spent some time looking through the code, and I cannot find any syntactical errors. It might be something with one of the MediaWiki objects I'm using, but I can't tell from what I know. I'm guessing that MediaWiki logged the php error somewhere. Erig, can you get the error information for me?
Based on when it occurs, the error is a runtime error in the renderRespawnMap function. To reproduce it, simply copy the example from the code comments, add it to a wiki page and preview it.
If the error is benign enough, you can just post it here, or you can email it to me if you prefer. If you don't even want to do that, then I would request you take a look at the code and see if you can fix it for me, then update Template:Respawn Map with the corrected code.

I'm sorry to be such a bother, but there's still a problem. I assume that it will once again show up in the php logs. I'm going to do some more reading about the MediaWiki php classes, but it would be helpful if you could let me know what the new error is.
I added a page to the playground that you can use to re-create the problem: TibiaWiki:Playground/RespawnMap.

I have a few questions about the moving of TibiaWiki to tibia.wikia.com
-What will happen to static.erig.net? I mean, will the pictures also be moved to another server?
-How can you be so sure there will be less lag during tibia updates? Is it just a guess or do you know how many broadwidth you need and how much they provide?
-When is it gonna take place?
I hope you can help me out :)

The images will be moved. Wikia host bigger wikis than ours without problems, so it's an educated guess. They also have the resources to add or upgrade more servers unlike me. It will take place when it takes place.. you'll know when you visit tibia.erig.net and it redirects you to tibia.wikia.com. ;) --Erig 12:43, 19 December 2007 (PST)

It seens that the skin is a little bugged. Not bugged at all, but the font color is the same as the BG color, making it impossible to read almost everything. I just liked that skin, and maybe hopefully this issue could be fixed..?
---- 06:38, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Hi, it looks like we will have to alter some of the CSS in our templates to better fit the new skins.. perhaps ask Whitelaces about this, since I have almost no idea how the current templates were set up. :P --Erig 07:27, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Problem reports list
I've seen there're a lot of new features on Wikia, and I see now the problem report list. Some of them are only a "minor problem" (like #4946, missing a furry club on rashid).
It's only possible to administrators to change the status of the report tickets? Like, for example, I've "solved" rashid problem (just added the furry club) and I could just change it to "solved" status, saving some time work for what is really a problem that can only be solved by the staff.
---- 22:18, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, only Administrators can close them. If you put a note in the "Discuss" section that you've fixed it, it would make it easy to come along and flag them all as solved where needed. --Erig 22:35, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Two things: The problem on Brass Legs is a problem with Template:spoiler block not properly parsing, or some other problem. I could find no equivalent spoiler on other wikis, except possible replacements until the problem is fixed. Most, though, would require changing every page with the <spoiler></spoiler> tags. Second thing is i do not see how to mark problems on the Problems reports list as fixed. I am working on some, but no clear marking, so it may only apply to bureaucrats+ admins. --DM ><((°> Contribs <°))>< talk to me 18:57, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
The spoiler tag is a custom extension Whitelaces wrote.. it used to be enabled, but was disabled for some reason. I have an open ProblemReport waiting for it to be added back in. As far as not being able to close the ProblemReports.. yeah, not sure. Ideally it would be an extra flag you could give to users. --Erig 21:26, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Regarding the Change
Hey Erig, I see that there are many things that are missing or misconfigured. Is there anywhere you would like me to focus my work? I'm available to do that. -- Maverick the hunter 01:54, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
There's a number of open ProblemReports. Fixing those would be a good start. :P (add a comment in its Discussion that it's fixed, and I can close it). -- Erig 21:27, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Most of the issues I've looked at are regarding the DPL lists not functioning properly or the spoiler tags not being seen as a parsing tag. I think these are what is calling the attention out of the editors, including myself. Nevertheless, I'll take a look in the list and see if there is anything that needs to be fixed and I'll do as you said. Thanks Erig! -- Maverick the hunter 04:40, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, Ppiotr! Is the DPL anything you can fix from your side too? Merry Christmas! -- Maverick the hunter 15:37, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Spoiler and RespawnMap are up and running. Now, could you pls. point me to a summary of DPL issues you are having? "Observed vs expected behaviour"-type bug report would be best. -- Nef (talk) 12:16, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Nef, thanks for fixing the spoiler. About the DPL issue, I'm sure Erig will have more detailed info for you, but I can say what everyone noticed, the DPL is not running... I want to point also, that the thing is not working properly too. At some spoiler pages that have a toc, all the page is dragged into the ToC, making a huge ToC... in some pages it's even worse, the page just show "nothing". I don't know how to help you out with the DPL, since I don't have access to detailed information. I hope Erig point the problems to you soon.
Ppiotr, the only broken ToC page I can think of atm is this one where the page is intact in its edit form but whenever you go in the article page, nothing shows up. [[User:Maverick_the_hunter|-- Maverick the hunter]] 16:03, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Like Maverick pointed, that spoiler page is with the ToC bugged. Another example is here. The content is inside the ToC... its strange, cuz when I try to edit it, it's "not bugged"... but if I save again the changes, the page is still "bugged".
Also, for a DPL example you can check here. DPL issue is found everywhere. It's the main problem right now. I hope this help you out.
Both Noble Armor Quest/Spoiler and The Shattered Isles Quest/Spoiler look ok for me. Initial info (from the spoiler template) + Spoiler section titile + toc + a few / a lot of (sub)section titles with some / long content. ToC switch shows and hides only a ToC, the rest of the page remains visible. Safari and FF on Mac; both gaming skin and monobook.
I'm using windows XP, Mozilla Firefox 184.108.40.206, using One of the Quartz Slate skin. I'm not sure what happened, but the Noble Armor page is working fine now (I didn't changed anything here). However the page was bugged, there're even some problem report ticket about that. Also, look how I see the Shattered Isles spoiler...
I tried to refresh, the cache also, and nothing. Maybe it's not a wiki problem, but with me? I'm not sure about that, since you said you loaded the pages without problems.
Ok, guys were able to reproduce this bug on linux and windows, both FF and MSIE. Looks like only Mac is not affected. It sucks to be you, PC-people. (-; Anyway, thank you for your tests. Bug report filled. -- Nef (talk) 11:23, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Regarding the new skin
Hello Erig. With the new skin and the new ADs/menus on the right side of the screen, some pages got very tight and/or not 100% able to view. An example of that is Runes page. The page is extremely tight, and if you ever use any resolution lower than 1024x768 the page will be a mess. I have two suggestions:
1 - Change the standard skin to one that will fit better with this wiki, I'd suggest Monobook skin (it look like this one, but with a slight smaller ads/menus) or one of the old skins like CognoBlue.
2 - Add a "warning" on the top of everypage saying something like This wiki is better visualized using resolution 1024x768+ with X or Y browser.
Either ways would make the life of the visitants easier.
---- 08:28, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
The largest problem with changing the default template for the wiki, is that we would lose some of the new functionality (like the problem report links on each page).
Anyway, I'm tired right now, so I'm not going to worry about it at the moment.
-- Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?
-- -- 13:28, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
The MonoBook skin still have the report function if I remember well, only the old skins miss this feature. About the script thing, I don't know how it would work for visitors...
But maybe if it's inviable to change the skin, follow my suggestion number 2, would be already helpful.
---- 00:20, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
That's really beside the point, though. We cannot (at least through the means I have available to me) change the default skin to anything except the "Quartz" skin, so that's not even an option. If you don't believe me, I would be happy to provide a screenshot.
Putting a "best viewed resolution" message is really just an explanation, not a solution. The way I see it, we have two options: 1) find a way to hide/show/remove/whatever that sidebar or 2) alter our page content to flow to smaller page widths.
-- Salve! Crepidas meas per clavos ad solum adfixinte?
-- -- 14:17, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
One other note... I did notice that there is a "Quartz Custom" option in the wiki's default skin drop-down, but I don't know how to edit it and it may just refer to a custom color scheme with no other changes to the skin.
-- Quisque comoedus est
-- -- 14:20, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
---- 18:32, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah, I see what I did wrong. The report a problem button is not there in every namespace. I must have been viewing my userpage or something. It's still a moot point, since we (at least I) can't set the default skin for the wiki to any other than the various "Quartz" skins.
About adding the js to the skin, Nef wasn't able to help me, and I haven't been in touch with any other Wikia staff. I'll see if I can find out who I need to talk to, and if they would even allow it.

We've introduced a skin called Monaco to replace Quartz. You can take a look at it by going to your skin preferences and choosing one of the Monaco skins. The nav is on the left, the sidebar menu can be customized (and even customized individually if you add a user sub-page), and the article area is wider than monobook. There are some other benefits. :) You can read about it here.... Monaco Customization.
You can check also check it out on Tibia just by putting "?useskin=monaco&usetheme=sapphire" at the end of your urls. We'll be moving to Monaco within a few days however, if you want to set it sooner you (being an admin) can go to your skin preferences and set the default to one of the Monaco skins. Looks kinda cool. I wonder how it figures out what items/books to show, etc.? ;) --Erig 10:29, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, that's just the category magic words in the sidebar article. It should try to pick up the most viewed articles in those categories. You can specify your own categories to highlight things you like. :) Johnq (talk) 10:45, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

I looked at this new skin. I think it's ugly. The page is showing with very large characters. It is also too wide, 1.5 times wider then my screen. So I will keep using CologneBlue :) My advice: make it a bit smaller.

- We've tested in in 800x600 and it still showed up ok. Can you do me a favor and post a screenshot that shows what you see? I'd also like to know what browser (and version), what os (mac/xp/vista) so we can test that specific case here. Johnq (talk) 19:42, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
No problem, I use Internet Explorer 7 with the Operating System Windows Vista. dhost.info/bennie/images/CologneBlue%20Screenshot.jpg this screenshot shows it in CologneBlue (which has normal text-size to my opinion, it's just to compare). And dhost.info/bennie/images/Monaco%20Sapphire%20Screenshot.jpg this one shows in in Monaco Sapphire, it's too wide because of some adds on the bottom of the page. The text-size is a bit too big I think. Good luck with testing!
^^^^ 07:51, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
That's perfect... thanks. Actually, in the Monaco skin on IE7 you're seeing some odd spacing on the left nav there. It's a bug I thought was gone 2 days ago, so I'm glad I saw that. On the font size, you're entirely correct that Monaco is larger... but that's controllable by the admins... they can change it in the CSS if they really wanted to. Johnq (talk) 09:18, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
How about adding to creatures' templates options like "Run away at: XX hp", "Can be pushed by: player/monster/none", "Can move: items (boxes), other monsters"? Or instead, this should be written in Field Notes or Tactics (I saw that some creatures already have such information)? What do you think?

Unsupported Fansites & Administrator Forum
TibiaWiki has links to unsupported fansites (in Tibia, Unsupported Tibia Fansites and some others pages), should we remove these links?
It's too hard to know when we should delete an unsupported fansite page.
Some users are removing links to TibiaEarth because Tibia.pl isn't a supported fansite.
I was thinking in a place to the administrators talk about big changes and decisions (e.g. if links to unsupported fansites should stay here), or someone, who isn't an admin, suggest something to us. Somewhere like a forum.
What do you think about my idea?
Should we replace the current Image:Wiki.png by a resized and png format version of Image:Logo_by_Andrei.jpg?
I made a resized and png format version of that image, it is 135×90 pixels. According to KyleH it should be 135×155 pixels, so I made other image with white pixels above and below the logo, this image is 135×155 pixels. But the background is white, not transparent, if the image could be a gif, I could let the background transparent.
So I have two resized logos: one in 135×90 pixels and other in 135×155 pixels with white background.

What do you think about the new TibiaWiki's logo?
Thanks and more
First of all, thank you for the promotion to administrator! I longed for this day to come for 2 years :) I have a few questions though, I know I have some duties/rights to delete and block stuff. But I also heard that for the tutor test servers not only Gamemaster, Community Masters, Senators and (Senior) Tutors are invited, but also administrators of supported fansites. Do you know if this is true? Furthermore, is there any place things can be discussed among admins? Maybe TibiaWiki_talk:Administrators? Also, if an image is re-uploaded a few times, should the older reversions be deleted or should they be kept as some kind of history, or back-up? Well, thanks a lot and talk to you later.
^^^^ 08:34, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
I did have the opportunity at the last test server to invite other members of my fansites, however there's no easy way to contact you all, so I opted not to. Perhaps if all current administrators sent me their email address via the PM Erig function on my website I could know where to send invitations and who to choose? --Erig 11:15, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
I understand your point, you mean this? Most admins on this wiki aren't that active so I don't know if they would send their email adress. But isn't posting on someone's talkpage on this wiki not a easy way to contact?
^^^^ 11:39, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Not on my talk page, no, because I don't check the Wiki as often as I should. :P --Erig 13:08, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Bennie! I was waiting the next private TS to ask it to Erig. I noticed a lot of "job" after the last Update and it will be faster if I could job in the TS. Erig, you can invite only the most active admins to become "official representatives of Tibia.Wikia.com". One time I used that PM function at erig.net, you can get my e-mail address there, or just ask Andasstra. ;D
I asked for place to admins but Erig didn't answer it. If we will use a (talk) page only to admins, it should be protected, I guess. Erig should be often in that place.
I think we should delete older image versions if they are from the current client version.
@erig: You understood me wrong, I mean the not your talkpage but the talkpages of all admins. You will see what I mean in a minute. @hunter: Yes, active admins (active enough to read their talkpages within now till christmas) could represent TibiaWiki. I will try to set up a page where we (admins) could discuss things, although the page TibiaWiki talk:Community Portal also kind of has this function.

It's true, except that's only true of the one in my house so probably not worth mentioning in the article. Any made as the result of a competition will have a more appropriate message. :P --Erig 12:47, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Problems with Erig.net/PM
I have tried to use your PM function, but it does not allow me to finish the request due to my IP being on sorbs blacklist. I am on a network which retains it's IP address so i cannot change it. I submitted my IP to be removed from the list. Regardless did you get my message, or would it not show up for this reason? --DM ><((°> Contribs <°))>< talk to me 09:54, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
I've temporarily disabled the blacklist checking process, so you should be able to send your message again. --Erig 21:26, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Now it says "You've sent too many messages recently, or are banned. " I assume it banned my IP since i did not initially submit multiple entries within five minutes. --DM ><((°> Contribs <°))>< talk to me 23:21, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
I removed the ban. --Erig 08:07, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
(in reply to your message on my talk page)
Thank you Erig, read and understood! I'm a little low on time right now so I don't think I will be of any help on the testserver this winter.
→ ← 17:14, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
I probably won't be all that active the next few weeks/months due to real life issues, so I guess I don't need to send a pm via your website?
Anyway, I think you'll need to contact Wikia in regards to the agreement, since we have no way to get the monthly traffic information and the adverts might not comply with the rules they've set (but it doesn't specifically say..) -- Sixorish 17:47, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Nice timing of Cip to start the new fansite programme right now. Erig, maybe you could clarify some things with this new information released, since we are a promoted supported fansite now. Access to our internal fansite board on which material like featured articles, screenshots, artwork, and update teasers are presented in advance. This only counts for the contact person, which is you. So, are you going to pass this information through, to our community? Furthermore, Free premium time for the contact person and up to 3 helpers for a period of 6 month, until the website is re-evaluated. I guess you won't need it as a GM, but you might give it as a reward to the new appointed (senior) helpers? Of course there are more things, but these are the most important, I think. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 18:14, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
I think the 5 helpers will have access to the fansite board.
Since Erig is a GM, we could have 4 helpers with free premium time. Couldn't we?
Unfortunately the free premium time only applies to the 'contact person and 3 helpers', not '4 helpers', hence the 3 'Senior Helper' positions I've advertised.
Also, I have sent the 5 character names for test server access, since I had limited time to do this I had to randomly choose Administrators before our official 'helper appointments'. I will let those people know closer to the test server. --Erig 10:06, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Ok Erig, already thought so about the premium time. Another thing, the latest news ticker says Further information will be posted on their private boards in due time. Do official fansite representatives get access to some private board/forum? ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 10:48, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
As it says boards and not board, I suppose every promoted or supported fansite will have an own board?
02:51, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
It says boards because there are Tutor Board, Gamemaster Board, Senator Board and Fansite Board, I think.
My bad, forgot about that
Art Featherpitch15:57, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Hi Erig, You said you would let us know "those people" closer to the test server, but it already started today. Could you please let us know which people are chosen, and where to find the "test board" anyway? ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 13:44, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
I am glad to be invited to the private test server, but I am not invited to a special board. I guess the 5 administrators who have test server access are the 5 helpers, am I right?
Hunter of Dragoes - 21:33, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
I asked the following characters to be invited to the private test server:
Hunter of Dragoes
however they are not the "5 helpers" as I hadn't decided when I was asked to select invitees so I had to think quick. :P --Erig 21:35, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the answer. I will wait patiently for the "official helper appointments".
Hunter of Dragoes - 21:45, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the invite, but i see no way of getting on the test server. I do not have access to the test forum, so is there something i missed, or is no one else on the server either.
--DM ><((°> Contribs <°))>< talk to me 03:43, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
This invite is only for admins. The helpers page explains what they are and how to apply. Those of us selected are not necessarily the helpers, but are "temporary" until later decided.
--DM ><((°> Contribs <°))>< talk to me 04:29, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
If you don't have access to the test board, then unfortunately I believe you won't have access to the test server. I'd be interested to know who out of the list above did manage to get in though. :P --Erig 06:39, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
It's a little hard to do that without a client ;) but I wouldn't even if I had it because the test server doesn't appeal to me at all -- Sixorish 06:45, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, the instructions for downloading the client/etc are on the test board, so you really do need access to that! --Erig 06:49, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply Erig. I got one question though, I'm on the list but don't have access to the test board, at least I can't find it anywhere. I think the other 4 also have this problem, so are you really sure Cip understood you selected those 5? ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 08:21, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I got a reply on tibianews forums and found out the following (of course I don't know if it's true, but it sounds reasonable):
- only tutors+higher ranks can see it. fansite representatives will get the neccesairy information from their fansite administrators.
- About fansites. Only the contact person is able to see the internal forum.
- If you have the permission to see it, it is under Support Boards. (the test board)
So, Erig: Could you have a look for us? Since apparantly we can't ourselves.. The most important information is the download link of the test server client, I think. Kind Regards, ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 08:45, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Portal Tibia is a new supported fansite and I think its wiki is breaking the Fansite Agreement (#6 Plagiarism from other fansites cannot be tolerated. If you want to use pictures, tables etc. from another site, please only do so if you have the permission of its owner. Please use your own thoughts on your site.), they are copying us!
Please, read Talk:Portal Tibia. We want to heard what you have to say.
Plese, take a look here.
List thing not working
Hi Erig, I replied your emails from the list thing, but they were sent back with a failure message. I also Contacted you through the PM Erig function on erig.net, hope you got that. Please confirm. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 19:19, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Ok thanks, it was in my unwanted mailbox, just saw your reply now. I sent a test message to test it.
It looks like hotmail may not like my mail server for some reason. If you can set up a gmail account or something and tell me the address, I'll subscribe you using that instead. --Erig 21:46, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

It's hard to find any contact to you. So I'll leave message here: I'm interested in buying full code of erig.net(even domain name -if possible). Please contact me: mickul[at]gmail[dot]com Thanks for reply, Michal Kulesza Mickula 22:38, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Hello Erig, According to this news ticket you stopped being GM. Well, since you also stopped with erig.net recently this step seems quite logical (still a bit surprising though). I just wanted to thank you for you job as a GM, even though I rarely saw you in game, but I know you were/are one of the oldest GMs. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 15:06, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
I wish you the best in RL and I hope you'll have time to Tibia and TibiaWiki.
Tibia lost one of its best gamemasters.
I wonder why you aren't a senator yet, you deserve it, in my opinion.
Hunter of Dragoes - 16:56, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Due to the great administrators TibiaWiki has, it takes very little of my time, so I see no reason to disband it, and even if I was thinking about it, I would simply make an existing Administrator the Fansite Contact so it would always continue.
In relation to the Senator position, I feel the position has been trivialised with certain appointments. For instance, I know of a particular appointment to the Senator position that several Gamemasters disagreed with, yet that person is still a Senator. For this reason, and some others, I felt I didn't need or want the title. --Erig 06:19, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
People don't like to hear that theres one GM less, but hey now you will have more free time :D hope to see you more around the wiki.
Off topic: Could I be apointed as an admin? I been here for like 3 years helping (very few eddit wars) I made the daily respawn page, made 3 tips, tested many monsters weakness, and I check every eddit other people make so I can find if some one is adding wrong or false info.
I would love to be admint mostly to eddit protected pages and stop hackers and vandals.
Off topic again: I miss erig.net, why is that you close it?
--Kwigon the sharpshooter 18:12, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your great work Erig, both on fansites and as a GM. I wish you the best int he future. And I can't agree more about the senator issue. I believe when they started giving that rank to retired Senior Tutors it have been going downhill. Good luck and many hugs! Kseni Of Chimera 18:19, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Transfering database to free website
How would you guys feel about transfering all of this information to a new site? I would pay for the host and domain and have no ads at all. I just hate the number of ads and how some of them are video ads which can lag you in Tibia. I emailed Erig about the idea too. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pinn (talk • contribs). Remember to sign your comments!
We used to have tibiawiki on a subdomain of erig.net (namely tibia.erig.net). Back then the wiki would slow down a whole lot around updates, when a lot of people visited the site. Erig decided to move tibiawiki to Wikia, since Wikia is able to provide fast access (more bandwith and server capacity). I don't think we should move tibiawiki, it's working very good here on Wikia. If you login as a user you have very few ads. They need to get some money for the servers and stuff. Conclusion: I would not suggest to move, an individual should not pay for all, what if he decides to stop? ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 15:24, September 26, 2009 (UTC)
21:26, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
I created a new page on Tibia.wikia, and after 5 minutes sombody blocked it (Less than 5 min.) without any reason, I would like to ask, if possible... Please re-open it again. I've decided to use this function. The page is/was: Www.tibia.wikia.com/John_Roberto
(JohnRobertoOnUnitera 21:08, November 9, 2009 (UTC))
It says on the rules that it has to be from a type of monster already in tibia, That you cant invent a new one. Does a shapeshifter count as a new one or like already in tibia?
T6r7 03:50, September 1, 2010 (UTC)
You misunderstood something, I think. The rule states: "Your creature must have a creature class. You can look at existing creatures or make up a completely new breed and class!". So you can make a shapeshifter or anything else, it does not have to be an existing type. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 08:09, September 1, 2010 (UTC)
Hey Erig, I remembered you had a complete database dump imported on your server and am curious if you still have the list of articles, or remember how/where you got the list? Or if you have the XML export still and could host it somewhere?
Thanks, -- Sixorish 13:12, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
Bennie, we discussed this in an email regarding our move; the database dumps there are not up-to-date. It's no use to me if the database was saved before our huge trade template transition. Although, I'm not sure if Erig has a more updated version than that dump (Jan 05); I expected he would tell where he found the list of articles and I could export the entire database. -- Sixorish 22:20, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, but the page says it is updated every week. If you would get it exactly on the moment after they update it it would be up-to-date, wouldn't it? But I know what you are referring to, Erig claimed to use a different way which was more "live". -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 19:32, January 9, 2011 (UTC)
Can I know why do you want the entire database?
Bennie: it says that, but more often than not it is delayed and can go months without being updated.
Dragaos: I was going to do some simple searches for common spelling/grammatical mistakes on our mainspace articles to aid the comprehension of our viewers'; or run a bot through the database for them. I can work with a 'weekly' database dump for now, but would much rather a method to find a list to export live revisions. -- Sixorish 05:22, January 11, 2011 (UTC)
- Apparently dpl can mass edit articles. No idea how, probably destroy the wiki.
06:11, January 11, 2011 (UTC)
I just sent an email to Sixorish with an idea on how he can get the data he wants.
I always come to this Tibia wiki whenever I want to know more about Tibia, and you guys are always doing a wonderful job. However, I think there is a problem with the "Buy from" table. Those green ticks, that should indicate which NPC sells an item for the lowest value, are instead indicating the highest values. I know it's not that big deal, but it may mislead inattentive people.
Hi, can you please add on legend of the Behemoth quest page:
It was launched at 7.3 version and started with a minimum level requirement of 60.
I dont know if you remember, but it started with level 60 requirement, I soloed this quest in a paladin level 60, I recorded in .rec and it iw on Youtube.. Search for "tibia behe quest level 60"
