New Monsters in the winter update 06

latest?cb=20210627083547&path-prefix=en&format=original
You see a betrayed wraith
  • Rrrah!
  • Gnarr!
  • Tcharrr!

Notes

Revenge is the drive of a Betrayed Wraith, revenge whose cause is long forgotten and whose source has likely died decades ago. Still trapped in their lust for revenge, they mindlessly attack everything they encounter. Mercy is no option and its futile to argue with these maddened ghosts. Their broken and twisted minds are constantly tormented by the ever-present memory of their gruesome death. Entrapped in their feelings and memories, they only find relief when inflicting some of those feelings on living beings. In an insane surge of joy, they attack the life force of others, feeding their pain and amplifying it by projecting their own agony and horror upon their victims. It is said that those who survived the attacks of a Betrayed Wraith are driven insane, they age before their time and turn into white-haired shadows of their former selves.

They can put Hydras to shame with their healing abilities. They appeared in the Winter Update 2006 haunting the deepest Pits of Inferno. Looks the same as a Sloth Wraith.

Behaviour

Cruel and fast, they still run away at low life.

A betrayed wraith attacks in melee range.

Strategy

Due to their healing it's very hard to kill them solo. A medium level knight should have no problem blocking it as it's attacks aren't extremely powerful, however you will need 3-4 shooters (preferably Paladins, as Mages cannot deal much damage to these creatures), otherwise you will be wasting a lot of supplies. Be wary when group hunting, they will retarget relentlessly. Also, higher level paladins could kill them solo using Assassin Stars and Divine Missile. Try to stay always diagonal when killing it solo as a paladin, since the poison wave decreases 95% of your distance fighting for about 3-5 seconds.

You see a nightmare
  • Close your eyes... I want to show you something.
  • I will haunt you forever!
  • Pffffrrrrrrrrrrrr.
  • I will make you scream.
  • Take a ride with me.
  • Weeeheeheeeheee!

Notes

One thing that always eludes the demons and their powers are dreams. The gift of dreaming is only granted to mortals. Still some demons lurk at the borders of dreams, watching, drooling with hatred and greed. Sometimes a dreamer gets some distant feeling of those unwelcome spectators. Such dreams often turn into nightmares. The chaos and fear, that is caused by nightmares, allow the lurking demons to steal some of the essence of these dreams. By eating more and more of this substance, demons gain certain characteristics which are normally not at disposal of demons. To some extent they are even able to haunt the dreams of the mortals, although their influence is only indirect and limited. Their physical form reflects their constant travel to a place they do not belong to and takes the shape of a ghostly horse creature. Their powers in the lands of the living are somewhat more substantial and often involve to weaken mortals and to steal their life force.

Creature added in the Christmas 2006 update. Often hunted for Death Rings and Demonic Essences, since it's one of weakest monsters that can provide such items. It is good to take caution while hunting these creatures, as they can combo hard and do so unexpectedly.

You may hunt 400 Nightmare and Nightmare Scion combined as a task of the Killing in the Name of... Quest. Upon completion of the task you will face Tormentor.

Behaviour

Runs away at deep red, often using haste then.

A nightmare attacks in melee range.

Strategy

Don't try to outrun them, Nightmares are pretty fast, resembling the speed of a Level 110. Their Poisonball attack is very strong, and can easily lead to death if you are not paying attention. Try to kill them in such a way that they will trap themselves when they begin to run. They run away when they have less than 300 hp. If you are a mid-to-high level vocation (especially paladins and mages) and you are hunting them at the Cemetery Quarter avoid getting multiple Nightmare Scions while killing a Nightmare as they can combo very hard. If you're blocking a Nightmare and one Nightmare Scion, try to kill the scion first. But, if the Nightmare is in red hp try to kill him fast. It is a good idea to bring a Terra Amulet since it will block 20% of all Earth Damage and will not wear off fast because nightmares do not poison you with their attacks.

Knights: Killing Nightmares as a knight has 2 good strategies. The first and easiest way to kill Nightmares is having 2 or more knights of Level 80 or more simply lure it, then trap it and hit it until it dies. The second way can require a bit more experience, having one knight of Level 85 or more and a Druid of Level 50 or more to Sio you. Simply lure the Nightmare, try to trap it, and kill while a druid is healing you. Keep in mind that the Nightmare can rarely hit you for 700 damage in a nasty combo, so it is not a bad idea to bring some potions for the blocker and UHs for the mages to use on the knight. At about Level 95, knights can solo Nightmares with ease. Note: Knights, DO NOT HAVE CHASE OPPONENT ON! YOU CANNOT HEAL ALL THE TIME! If you have chase opponent on you are more likely to run into more creatures and get combo'd. If you are soloing these, try to combo your last attack with a Fierce Berserk, so they don't have time to run away. Also Nightmares have extremely low defense, Exori attacks are very strong. Their melee is very weak (comparable to a Mutated Rat or a Dragon) and they don't have any wave so diagonal isn't necessary.

Paladins: Level 80 recommended. Exura San at 700-800 hp don't let your hp go lower than 700. Royal Spears, Enchanted Spears or Assassin Stars are all that is needed besides 80 distance and 1 to 10 Strong Mana Potion per Nightmare and some Strong Health Potions for emergencies.

Mages: Mages of Level 70+ can solo Nightmares with only Ice Strike for sorcerers and Physical Strike for druids, rod or wand and Utamo Vita. Levels 130+ can kill with just exura and using Terra Set. Sorcerers also have the option of the Robe of the Underworld to protect against Death Damage which is especially helpful if you are hunting in the Cemetery Quarter and are killing the Grim Reapers as well. When it begins to run away at low health, you can use various runes or waves to bring it down (any with non-death damage).

History

  • Its experience was decreased from 2150 to 817 with the first batch of changes of Update 12.31. It was later increased to 1666 with the second batch.
  • As announced on March 12, 2024, the patch raised its experience from 1,666 to 1,800 as part of the 2024 Balancing Project.

You see a destroyer
  • COME HERE AND DIE!
  • Destructiooooon!
  • It's a good day to destroy!

Notes

The Destroyers, a rather minor demonic race, can be found at many places serving many purposes. By all accounts much stronger than smart, they are particularly effective in close combat. Powerful enough to be noticed by other demons but still too weak to be of any importance, Destroyers love to torment and bully creatures that are lower in the demonic pecking order. This gets them often into fights with the smart but physically weak imps. Since both races feel superior over the other, they do not get along too well.
Under a strict leadership the Destroyers prove quite competent in the area they are employed, which is usually to destroy things and to mash people. However, their true strength comes through quantity. Demons of higher ranks like to accumulate a horde of such minions and let them loose on a target. Such an unleashed horde of Destroyers is virtually unstoppable. Having a seemingly endless supply on Destroyers, only the difficultly to enter the realms of the mortals keeps the demons from using them on a larger scale.

It is very similar to a Behemoth. However, Destroyers are slightly more powerful, and drop loot much more frequently. It is also important to note that Behemoths are resistant to Holy Damage, whereas Destroyers are weak to Holy Damage.

You may hunt 650 of these as a task of the Killing in the Name of... Quest. Upon completion of the task you will face Bretzecutioner.

Behaviour

They are extremely fast when hasted but slower than a behemoth if they don't haste.

A destroyer attacks in melee range. A destroyer never retreats.

Strategy

They are pretty much like a Behemoth with the same attacks and slightly less hit points. A blocker is recommended to hunt these, a 100+ Paladin or a 80+ Knight should be fine, while 1 or more shooter attack it. Mages should attack with Ice Strike while paladins use Divine Missile along with their desired distance weapon.

An effective spot for Paladins is deep in the Formorgar mines (according to this video), here, where you can throw a fire wall from the south-east corner to where the mineshaft tracks intersect, forcing destroyers to go diagonal at the north-east nook created by the wall. From there, just walk back and forth between the intersection while luring more destroyers from the east and south. Try to avoid the west end of the mine as there is a Plaguesmith that will walk right through the wall and be an all around nuisance.

Knights can solo hunt Destroyers with ease and profit if they are level 200+ and are using an elemental ice weapon such as Winterblade or Cobra Axe and Summon Skullfrost.

You see a dark torturer
  • You like it, don't you?
  • IahaEhheAie!
  • It's party time!
  • Harrr, Harrr!
  • The torturer is in!

Notes

Dark Torturers are distant relatives of the diabolic imps. Like all members of the imp family, they enjoy pain and havoc they wreak upon other creatures. Their physical abilities exceed by far those of their cousins, the diabolic imps. Since they lack the magical affinity of the latter, those creatures tend to sell their services to more powerful demons or even some malicious mortals. Given their somewhat lazy and cowardly nature, they prefer to take up the roles of jailers and torturers. There they can indulge their malicious instincts without risking too much in open warfare. Those disgusting qualities have earned this race the fitting name Dark Torturer in the vernacular.

It is a relative of the Diabolic Imp. The Dark Torturer's boss is Mr. Punish located in Tafariel's throne room.

You see a lost soul
  • Mouuuurn meeee!
  • Forgive Meee!
  • Help meee!

Notes

Some people die in so much agony and pain that they rise again in a ghostly form. They are by far more powerful than ordinary ghosts, fuelled by the memory of those painful emotions. Roaming the place of their death, they seek revenge, not distinguishing between guilty and innocent. Usually they haunt crypts, graveyards or places of torture and great pain.Sometimes though, these Lost Souls are snatched away by demons and forced into their service by the use of magical powers. Although the demons do not consider the Lost Souls as really useful, they enjoy to have an incarnation of suffering and pain around. Some of the more powerful and cruel demons even enjoy to 'breed' such ghosts on their own. They subjugate abducted mortals and expose them to unspeakable procedures which culminate in the painful death of their victims. Sometimes a demon is able to 'harvest' one of those unfortunates out of the procedure to make an especially impressive exemplar of a Lost Soul which it can brag about to other demons.

They may look rather harmless but do not underestimate this fearsome creature. Usually avoided in mines due to the fact it has very high hitpoints, so it takes a longer time to kill, increasing the chance of being swarmed by respawns of other creatures. It is common to see these creatures left at low red health by someone hunting in the area in which they spawn - this is so that players can avoid wasting supplies on the Lost Souls as they have high points, deal fairly good damage, and rarely drop good loot.

Strategy

Though dangerous, they aren't overly powerful so a decent blocker with decent skills will suffice to keep Lost Soul at bay. However, they can retarget a lot so any shooters from the back row should keep their guard up at all times. You should try to trap them in somewhere, since they run at low health and can be seen in dangerous places with more monsters...

You see a blightwalker
  • I can see you decaying!
  • Let me taste your mortality!
  • Your lifeforce is waning!

Notes

The essence of death, plague and decay is indeed a powerful one as some demons quickly realised. They used their powers to gather this essence through their minions just like bees gather honey. Then they bound these disruptive powers into tangible shapes and added a little bit of demonic spirit. Filled with decay and a malicious will, the Blightwalkers were born. Whenever they find a way into the realms of the living, their steps are followed by death and decay. Everything fertile and healthy is considered as enemy and their dark instinct drives them to destroy and ruin everything they encounter. Even though demons often summon them as individuals to bring decay upon the ranks of their enemies, some enjoy to employ Blightwalkers as shock troops and footsoldiers of their armies.

Blightwalkers are renowned minions of the demons who enjoy using those corrupted creatures as a shock troop in their army.

You see a hand of cursed fate

    Notes

It is unknown to mankind whether this hand is some pure materialisation of demonic essence or actually a body part of a greater evil. It is sure though that its existence is fuelled by powerful demonic forces. Living or animated, it is a fast and powerful minion in the demonic ranks. Yet obviously lacking a head, the creature is quite cunning and loves dirty surprise attacks. It usually attacks with individual fingers, but it is also said that the Hand of Cursed Fate sometimes grasps an opponent to crush it in its powerful grip. Its greatest pleasure is to bring pain and despair to others. Above all it enjoys the suffering of creatures. The Hand of Cursed Fate is attracted by those whom it senses as doomed and takes greatest amusement in their demise. Therefore it is a powerful adversary, and it is no mockery when it is claimed that the Hand of Cursed Fate can pull some dirty tricks out of its sleeve.

A demonic minion with sole purpose to bring pain and despair to all who enter its domain. It has the ability to deal high amounts of damage and can also Mana Drain making it one of the most dangerous creatures in Tibia. The Hand of Cursed Fate's boss is The Handmaiden.

It's the first creature known to drop a non-blank rune.

A hand of cursed fate attacks in melee range. A hand of cursed fate will retreat at 2000 (30.3%, yellow) health.

    Strategy

Since it has no ranged damaging attack, it is a good idea to have a Knight blocking it and as many shooters as possible. This may be tricky though since it can disappear, and you have to find it with Runes. So, that Knight must try to lure it in a place where it can't move, and then spam it with Ice and Holy-Based Spells. Note though that when using Haste, the creature can become extremely fast, about the speed of a level 650+ so don't expect to chase it until it has slowed down. Try to trap the creature with a Knight blocker and possibly some Wild Growths.

    History

    • As announced on March 12, 2024, the patch reduced its HP from 7,500 to 6,600, significantly reduced flee threshold (previously it fled around 6000 HP), reduced Mana Drain damage, and removed possibility to apply multiple debuffs at the same time as part of the 2024 Balancing Project.
