Transcript - A written version of what was said orally; (...)" (Wikipedia).

Transcripts gather and keep safe information said by different NPCs and let the information connect with other sources of information about Tibia (cross-connect). Transcripts (as very important part of every NPC) are very important source to get know the role playing background of Tibia, but also contain important information (eg. about quests ). Most NPCs react to the general words like hello, job and name. They also usually say something about other NPCs near them.

Some most common keywords are listed at keyword page.

Examples of transcripts page: Urkalio/Transcripts, Odemara/Transcripts.

Retrieving the transcripts

1. "Conversation" with NPC can be started by saying a keyword (for example "hi" or "hello" or "Hail Emperor") in the Local Channel or the NPCs Channel. If the conversation is started in the Local Channel, shortly thereafter the conversation will be taken to a special NPCs Channel.

2. The channel can be later saved both by "mark + copy/paste" (ctrl+a marks all) or by "save window". Saved window is - by default - saved as NPCs.txt file, in the following location:

Under Windows Vista and Windows 7:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Tibia

Under Windows 2000 and Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Tibia

3. Conversation saved as a file has usually following structure:

Channel NPCs saved at <date and time>
<time> <Player's name and level>: <greeting keyword>
<time> <NPCs name>: <NPCs greeting respond>
<time> <Player's name and level>: <keyword>
<time> <NPCs name>: <NPCs respond>
.
.
<time><time> <Player's name and level>: <good bye keyword>
<time> <NPCs name>: <NPCs good bye respond>

Example:
Channel NPCs saved at Tue Mar 16 09:13:07 2010
09:12 Vasilasguard [34]: hi
09:12 Jessica: Greetings stranger. Let me know if you want to {trade} gems or jewellery. I am also the local {bank} contact.
09:12 Vasilasguard [34]: bank
09:13 Jessica: We can change money for you. You can also access your bank account.
09:13 Vasilasguard [34]: bye
09:13 Jessica: Good bye.

Moreover, highlighted keywords (deep blue colour in NPCs window) are marked in the file with {} (for example: {bank}.

4. Saved transcripts with added TibiaWiki tags and links can be added to TibiaWiki.

Some more used tags are:

{{Infobox Transcript|
''Player''
'''hi'''
<br/>
}}

5. Spelling mistakes should be marked for example by underlining them and giving appropriate information. That is made to highlight possible spelling mistakes and be able to verify them and - if verified - to report them to Cipsoft.

For example: (note: underlined words are spelling mistakes and might be corrected atm by Cipsoft)

Player: Silver guards
Baxter: The best sorcerers, paladins, knights, or druids of our forces are choosen to serve as silver guards. They are the bodyguards of the king.

Player: Bozo
Baxter: The royal jester. I dont think he is funny.

6. Additional notes.

  • NPC react on parts of words/sentences if they are on their keyword list (list of keywords the NPC react).

Example:
NPCs (Sven in this case) keyword list looks like that: "hi king jarl".
Player says: "jarlaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa". NPC will react on keyword "jarl" giving answer which is related to "jarl" not "jarlaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" (because "jarlaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" is not on keyword list but "jarl" is).

What does it mean? You need to understand context of NPC's answer.

Another example:
NPCs (Sven in this case) keyword list looks like that: "hi king jarl".
Player says: "ajarl". NPC will not react on keyword "ajarl" as it's not on his keyword list.

What does it mean? You can say many possible keywords at once and see the reaction. (copy+paste of NPCs previous reaction to search for new keywords).

  • NPC react to keywords according to priority on his keyword list.

Example:
NPCs (Sven in this case) keyword list looks like that: "hi king jarl".
Player says: "jarl king".
NPC will react on keyword "king" (and not "jarl") as it's before keyword "jarl" on keyword list.

Another example:
NPCs keyword list looks like that: "hi king jarl chyll shamans".
Player says: "jarl king shamans chyll tibia". NPC will react on "king" because it's the highest on the list.
Player says "jarl shamans chyll tibia". NPC will react on "jarl " because it's the highest on the list.
Player says "shamans chyll tibia". NPC will react on "chyll" because it's the highest on keyword list.
Player says: "chyll tibia". NPC will react on "chyll" because it's on keyword list.
Player says: "tibia". NPC will not react because it's not on keyword list.

What does it mean? If you post some words and NPC reacted on the last one, there are possibly more keywords in middle/at beginning of your phrase. You also need to understand context of NPC's answer.
