Please be aware Tibia Cam programs are not supported by CipSoft or TibiaWiki

TibiCAM is an independent program that allows a user to record or replay events through the Tibia client. It can be compared to a camcorder in the sense that it not only records but also allows other players to download and watch your recordings.

TibiCAM works by "recording" the information that is relayed between the player's client and the Tibia server. Since this is raw data, the .rec files that it produces are relatively small in size, much smaller than conventional digital video formats.

TibiCAM is not against Tibia Rules because it does not "manipulate the client program" and it does not "automatically perform or repeat certain actions without any interaction by the player" [1].

However CipSoft does not support the idea of TibiCAM, apparently due to the risk of quests getting spoiled and for the increased risk of account theft.

The original TibiCAM has never been the thief when a player gets hacked (See hacking) by recording, but downloading a movie could result in being hacked if the uploader has placed a small keyboard-control file (see Keyboard-Control System).

The first TibiCAM was created by the company "how2doit" and was updated by a user from the WoT forums called "haktivex", but due to the constant patches Cip launched in a short time he gave up on updating it and after a few months another program called TibiaCam Tv showed up. There is a version TibiaCam Tv Lite that is free and used to watch videos and the version TibiaCam Tv Pro that is paid and can be used to record videos.

The first TibiCAM recorded files into a .rec extension, while the other TibiaCam Tv created files with extension .cam.

The promoted fansite TibiaBr used to sell the TibiaCAM TV to brazilian players and offered even technical support for that program, but in January 2009 they finished their partnership [2].

Since August 2009 TibiaBr announced they support a new program called TibiaLive to record videos for free [3]. This programs creates short files with the extension ".cam". These files have an average of 9 Kb for each minute recorded, what means a video of 1 hour of you playing tibia would have the size of 540 Kb.

Note that nobody from TibiaWiki has confirmed the safety of this program, therefore it is NOT advisable to use it
