Transcripts[]

Etzel Writ[]

Player: hail
Kesar the Younger: Hail, what can I do for the hero of Bounac? The siege is finally under control, thanks to you. Meanwhile, another problem has left me in dismay.
Player: problem
Kesar the Younger: I have sent a party of my best men on a mission to a certain island to... investigate a royal matter. However, they have yet to send news from their quest. ...
Kesar the Younger: Hero of Bounac and royal advisor of the court, I am in need of your help once again.
Player: help
Kesar the Younger: My knights embarked on the Emmanuelle, our flagship. They were to set sail for the Isle of Ada to retrieve word from an old order of... knights, residing there. ...
Kesar the Younger: There is, however, another twist to this tale, I fear I cannot keep from you. A long kept Bounacean secret is about to be lifted, all in due time. ...
Kesar the Younger: There is a room below the cathedral that was once the stage for quite the spectacle. By decree a guard was to be garrisoned there at all times, day as well as night, an armed magic wielder. ...
Kesar the Younger: The room was locked from the inside and there was no other direct access. All of this to protect a single chest. Its... precarious content was subject of several attacks, in hope to destabilise the then still struggling Bounaceans and their leader. ...
Kesar the Younger: During one of these attacks, a hired magician found a way to enter the room. The warlock down there managed to subdue the perpetrator but had to seal the room... and ultimately himself from the inside. ...
Kesar the Younger: The shift was never changed again, the room was kept unbreached until this day. The chest houses a writ that was quite important for Kesar Etzel, my ancestor. And it still is to the Etzels, in this case: me. ...
Kesar the Younger: I will not tell you what is written there but I want you to retrieve it and bring it to me. You will have to find a way from the sacred halls directly above it.

Isle of Ada[]

Player: hail
Kesar the Younger: Hail, what can I do for the hero of Bounac? The siege is finally under control, thanks to you. Have you been able to help the expedition?
Player: help
Kesar the Younger: Now that you know our family secret, I want you to take the writ with you and show it to Captain Banner, leader of this expedition.
Kesar the Younger: The Isle of Ada is uncharted and difficult to reach. Either you have a very strong ship or a very nimble boat. ...
Kesar the Younger: Since the port of Bounac is still in quite the turmoil, find a boat to the south near the old fisherman's hut. Say no word to anyone besides the captain and make utmost haste. Are you prepared?
Player: yes
Kesar the Younger: Then make it so. Find Captain Banner on the Isle of Ada, state the purpose of your mission, which is to support them as well as the Stags and bring word of the expedition.
Player: Banner
Kesar the Younger: Strong, resilient and completely trustworthy. Currently out on an expedition, it's been a while, actually...

Finding Heir of Eldoran[]

Player: hi
Second in Command Demeron: If you don't carry any spares, state your business quickly or move along.
Player: spares
Kesar the Younger: Second in Command Demeron: I will get back to this later. Now either you're just a confused bystander or you're on a mission to get on my nerves. What will it be?
Player: mission
Second in Command Demeron: If you can't tell me why you're here, stop distracting me and at least try helping some of my men knocking this measly camp into shape!
Player: tell
Second in Command Demeron: How did you even manage to get here with that sorry excuse of a sailing boat? So you say Kesar himself sent you, giving you details he did not disclose, even to us? And do you have any proof for that outrageous claim?
Player: yes
Second in Command Demeron: Royal Bounacean advisor? Why should Kesar constitute someone like you, this is saying nothing without proof. Has he really told you what this is all about?
Player: yes
Second in Command Demeron: A bastard?! Lower your voice, stranger, that's no trifling matter. At all... you say you have solid evidence of this?
Player: yes
Second in Command Demeron: A certificate of... oh my. That should have stirred something up in the ivory tower, heh. ...
Second in Command Demeron: Alright... well, excuse my temper, it's all hands on deck for us since we barely set foot on this accursed rock. Let's take a break and start this conversation properly. ...
Second in Command Demeron: We need to find the heir of this Eldoran then. His knights must be on this island somewhere, but we did not encounter any of them so far. If the threat you mentioned is real, they may be in grave danger, as are we. ...
Second in Command Demeron: Fight your way through the mines and further into the isle. We need to get to the bottom of this and we also need to find a way to survive: there is no escaping for us in our current state.

Fightning Night Harpies[]

Player: hi
Guard Captain Hartford: HALT! Outsider, state your business!
Player: business
Guard Captain Hartford: So you tell me you took a stroll all the way up the mountain, right through the middle of the enemy lines, past the bulk of the cursed hordes in the outskirts and in here. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: All this with a healthy disregard of our bastion's massive walls, the defense perimeter of my guards down in the dell and the influence of the warlock. Explain yourself.
Player: explain
Guard Captain Hartford: I see. If Kesar himself got wind of this and decided to send help, then his court wizards must have come to the same conclusion as Eldoran. We're screwed. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: Royally so, if I might add. There is no way through the outer perimeter right now. We need to defend the castle yard and I have no men to spare. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: That's the situation. If the others are pinned down and the mines are still lost, then we cannot get outside help or supplies. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: You have been very lucky - and very bold to make an attempt like this on your own. Alas, a few warriors would indeed have a greater chance than a battallion under these circumstances. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: I say we continue to stick to that plan. Say, are you in for another round?
Player: yes
Guard Captain Hartford: I counted on you. We have two main issues here: the cursed onslaught and the death from above. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: While we can still hold a considerable number of the cursed puppets in check, they keep coming and the warlock manages to recruit a steady amount of new material day by day. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: The numbers of order knights to succumb to the warlock's power is dwindling, for whatever reason. Yet they are increasingly difficult to defeat, the more men we lose. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: The winged horrors that haunt us during the night are another story entirely. We do not yet know how many of them exist or where their roost is located, but they want to occupy the bastion. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: If you can help us with those night harpies, we would be grateful and far in your debt. Just bring me a few of their beaks. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: To do so, gently pull the beak of a killed harpy, then press it downward and pull it slightly to the left or right in a single, firm move. It takes some skill and might not always work but I need proof of at least a few more of them dead. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: If you show your goodwill, I will give you access to the upper hall, you will be able to contact Eldoran himself, if you can get through.
Player: winged
Guard Captain Hartford: We first encountered these winged terrors on a routine patrol through the outskirts. They must have started nesting here only recently. We never had any harpies on the isle before the warlock took service with Eldoran the Ambitious. ...
Guard Captain Hartford: So maybe there's a connection. In any case, they attack viciously but only at night. They have a roost far to the south of the island, somewhere in the mountains. But none of us is strong enough to muster a raid party.
