Legend

The Explorer Society is a noble order of explorers who have ventured themselves to the very core of the Tibian realm. You can join this society and raise in rank by helping them with their exploration.

Location

Begins in Port Hope or Northport, but requires travel throughout Tibia.

Dangers

From Rats, Dwarves, all kinds of Orcs, all kinds of Minotaurs, all kinds of Lizards, all kinds of Apes, Priestesses, Demon Skeletons, all kinds of Humans, all kinds of Elves, and all kinds of Undead, until Frost Dragons and all kinds of Quara.

Reward

Ice Pick, Spectral Stone, 6 Orichalcum Pearls, 1 Crown Backpack, 5250 gp, the ability to buy Atlases, Orichalcum Pearls and Crown Backpacks. You can use the teleporters between Port Hope and Northport, and between Liberty Bay and Svargrond which works having an Orichalcum Pearl. You have the ability to travel to Calassa and the Frozen Trench, and hunt underwater. You will also receive the achievements Just in Time (if the further requirements are met), Explorer and Sea Scout.

This is a very difficult and time-consuming quest. Parts of it can be worked on at any level, but some of the missions require you to pass through some very difficult places, such as Dwacatra and Ulderek's Rock.

Method

To begin this quest, visit the Tibian Explorer Society in Port Hope (here) or Northport (here), and ask to join.

Prove Your Dedication - Obtain Dwarven Pickaxe

• Go to Kazordoon, and talk to Uzgod, the weaponsmith (beneath the Depot). Ask him for the Dwarven Pickaxe. He will tell you that his order book is * full, but if you bring his stolen Family Brooch, he will give you the Dwarven Pickaxe. The Family Brooch is in Dwacatra, the prison under Kazordoon.

• To enter Dwacatra, you need to first get the key. But in order to do that, you need to get two other keys near the throne room.

• The first key (Key 3800) is down a hidden passage.

• To get the second key (Key 3801), use Key 3800 on the door, and open the chest.

• The final key (Key 3802) is below the throne room, in the General's private quarters, near the armory. You will need to use Key 3801 to open his door.

• Once you have Key 3802, you can enter Dwacatra.

• The entrance to the Kazordoon Prison is located near the main entrance to Kazordoon.

• In Dwacatra, you need to go down a hole near a well. You will have to face a large number of Orcs, Orc Spearmen, Minotaurs, Minotaur Archers, Dwarves, Dwarf Soldiers, Dwarf Guards, some Cyclopes, and maybe even a Minotaur Mage or Orc Berserker. Take it slow, and you might not get swarmed.

• Once you are done, go back to Uzgod, and tell him you have his "brooch". He will then give you the Dwarven Dwarven Pickaxe.

• Go back to the Explorer Society, and give him the Dwarven Pickaxe.

You are now an official member of the Tibian Explorer Society

Rank of Novice

The following three missions are for novices of the Explorer Society. Once all three of these missions have been completed successfully, you will advance in rank.

Ice Delivery

This mission requires that you use a special Ice Pick, and retrieve some Ice from beneath the Island of Folda. The ice is in the form of an Icicle. The Icicle melts quickly (in 10 minutes), so you must hurry once you have it. It is recommended that you get this mission from the Explorer Society in Northport, since it is closer to the Ice Islands.

• Take the Ice Pick, go to Folda, and enter the main cave (here).

• The following maps show the shortest route to the ice. You will face Frost Trolls, Rotworms, Minotaurs, Minotaur Archers, and maybe some Slime. Kill everything on your way there, and if you are fast enough, they will not spawn behind you to slow you down on your way back.

• Take the Icicle back to the Explorer Society, and tell him you have an Ice Delivery. If the Icicle melts before you make it back, talk to the guy there anyway, and he can give you another chance.

Butterfly Hunt

For this mission, the explorer society is looking for fresh specimins of certain butterflies. For each butterfly you will be given a Butterfly Conservation Kit to collect a fresh corpse of the different butterflies.

Tips: You can do the Butterfly Hunt AND Plant Collection at the same time, simply ask for each of the missions. It is reccommended that you find the Purple butterfly first, and then keep your eyes peeled for the other butterflies as you collect the plants. If you see a Blue or Red butterfly before you need them, go ahead and kill it and pick up the corpse. If you find your other butterflies fast enough, you will be able to use the corpse, even if it is not perfectly fresh (not if it decays too much, though).

• First, you will need to find a Purple Butterfly. These are the most common, and can be seen all around the swampy area just north of Port Hope, the grassy area south of Port Hope, as well as many other places all over Tibia.

• Second, you will need to find a Blue Butterfly. These are more difficult to locate, but are found near Port Hope, usually with Purple Butterflies. They have been seen along the coast north and south of Port Hope, along the outskirts of the Tiquanda Jungle north of Port Hope, and along the river inside the Tiquanda Jungle.

There is also a blue butterfly on the small hill over the steamboat in cormaya.

• Third, you will need to find a Red Butterfly. Most people have a difficult time with this one. There does not appear to be "normal" spawn places for red butterflies, but they can be seen near on the edge of the jungle north and south of Port Hope, in Trapwood near town, south-west of Banuta, and along the river in Tiquanda.

Plant Collection

For this mission you need to collect samples of three different jungle plants in a specific order. For each plant you will be given a Botanist's Container to use on the plant to collect the sample.

• First, you need to find a sample of a jungle bells plant. These can be found on the ground along the south side of Port Hope very close to town, and just within the Tiquanda Jungle north of Port Hope. Some have been seen here and here.

• Second, you need to find a sample of a witches cauldron plant. These are found slightly deeper in the Tiquanda Jungle. The easiest to locate is along the river. Go east of Port Hope on the north side of the river, and follow the river as it turns north. A witches cauldron plant can be found just north of a camp with Skeletons in it (approximately here). Others have been seen approximately here.

• Finally, you need to find a sample of a giant jungle rose plant. One can be found near the river on the way to the witches cauldron plant described above (approximately here).

Rank of Journeyman

These three missions are for jouneymen of the Explorer Society. Once all three of these missions have been completed successfully, you advance in rank.

Lizard Urn

The Explorer's Society is looking for you to retrieve a sacred Funeral Urn from the lizard village Chor for research.

To complete this mission of the quest go to the Lizard Village of Chor. Here you'll have to fight off all types of lizards to get into the temple. The lizards are not difficult but here you'll find that there are TOO many of them so bring a good team, with a couple of blockers and mages with lots of GFB runes. Take down first the Lizard Snakecharmer because they can be a real pain with their summoned cobras.

• Head to the temple located here, in the middle of the village.
• Go down one level and fight off a few Lizard Snakecharmers that are waiting for you.
• Continue north until you find a chest behind a glowing red handle, open it and get the Funeral Urn that you have to take back to the Explorer's Society headquarters to complete this mission of the quest.

Notes:

• Only Snakecharmers and Sentinels can see invisible. Templars can not, so maybe you want to have the spell or the ring at hand in case you get surrounded.
• Remember to save some capacity since the urn weights 100 oz.

Beholder Secrets

The Explorer Society is looking for evidence that the Beholders originally built the Dark Pyramid north-east of Darashia (which is now occupied by Minotaurs). This is a fairly difficult place to go, so bring a good blocker and a mage shooter with plenty of GFB runes.

To complete this mission, you need to go into the Dark Pyramid and retrieve a Wrinkled Parchment covered with strange numbers.

• Go to the Minotaur Pyramid north-east of Darashia (here) and go down the steps.

• This first level below the surface has plenty of Minotaurs and Minotaur Guards. Head west and go down another level.

• This level has quite a few Minotaur Guards and Minotaur Archers. Head east and go down again.

• This level has a large number of Minotaur Guards, Minotaur Archers, and Minotaur Mages. Head to the north and go down the steps.

• This room has only one Mummy. Go down the steps.

• There are no creatures in this room, but open the door and "use" the box behind it to receive the Wrinkled Parchment.

• Take the Wrinkled Parchment back to the Explorer Society and tell him you have found the "Beholder Secrets".

Orc Powder

The Explorer Society wants you to go and get a powder used by the Orcs to make their Orc Berserkers and Orc Riders crazy.

Go to Ulderek's Rock, fighting off several types of orcs.

Enter the fortress and go there:

Go up the ramp, you will face several types of orcs, mostly consisting of Orc Leaders and Orc Warlords. After 5 levels up you will find a door with a glowing red handle and a chest behind that, open the chest and you will find the Orc Powder. Give this to the explorer's society to complete the quest.

Elven Poetry

Location: Hellgate

Angus: "Some high ranking members would like to study elven poetry. They want the rare book 'Songs of the Forest'. For sure someone in Ab'Dendriel will own a copy. So you would just have to ask around there."

needed:

• Hellgate Key 3012 .

The way:

• Go into Hellgate and go one floor up.
• Walk west, and go down the hole at the end of the way.

• Now walk east, and also go down at the end.

• Now go West.
• At the T-cross go south.
• Go the first way west.
• Keep going west and go down the hole at the end.

• In this room are some elves, as well as the book Songs of the Forest.

• If you got the book you can go back to the Explorer Society again.

Memory Stone

Location: Edron Ruins

Angus: "As far as we know the ruins found in the north-west of Edron were once inhabited by beings who used such stones. Do you have the heart to go there and to get us such a stone?"

the way to the Memory Stone

• first go to Edron.
• Go the the Hero Cave here. (watch out for the Hunters.)
• go down the hole. (here are Wild Warriors)
• Walk north and go down again.
• at level -2 there are Demon Skeletons, Wild Warriors, Priestess and a Beholder. Go down the hole.

Here you will first meet a Monk, then several Demon Skeletons, Wild Warriors and more Priestess. Follow the yellow line til you come to stairs that go both down and up, go DOWN and the memory stone will be just to your right.

• If you got the Memory Stone, you can return to the Explorer Society.

Rune Writings

Location: Banuta

Angus: "Somewhere under the ape infested city of Banuta, one can find dungeons that were once inhabited by lizards... Look there for an atypical structure that would rather fit to Ankrahmun and its Ankrahmun Tombs. Copy the runes you will find on this structure..."

Needed

• The piece of paper that the NPC of the Explorer Society gave you.

Way to the "atypical structure"

• Go to Banuta and go down here. To get here you already meet some apes.

• After you go down one floor go north. You will face many apes from here on.
  • And in the second room go down the stairs, west of the room.

• go west. and the first way you go south.
• follow this way and you come in a room. (here are many apes)
  • the "atypical structure" is at the north of this room.

• After you used the piece of paper (that the NPC of the Explorer Society gaved you.) on the "atypical structure", you can go back the the Explorer Society for your next mission.

Rank of Explorer

Collect Ectoplasm

You must collect Ectoplasm from a recently dead ghost in a special Ectoplasm Container.

Any dead ghost will do.

Spectral Dress

You need to collect a Spectral Dress from The Queen Of The Banshees who lives in the Ghostlands.

Needed:

• Rope
• Pick

The way to The Queen Of The Banshees.

• First go to the Ghostlands and go down a hole here

• Go south and go down a hole. Here are some Skeletons, Ghouls and some Poison Spiders.

• Go south-east and go the hole down.

• Go the the Magic Walls east from the rope spot. To open the Magic Walls you need to use 2 switches. There is 1 switch west of here and 1 switch east of here (see the red arrows). The east switch is guarded by a Giant Spider.

• Once you have removed the Magic Walls, go past them all at the same time because there is a hidden switch that will close the Magic Walls again. After the Magic Walls go down the hole. (The teleporter is for going back if the Magic Walls have closed.)

• Walk in this room north. Here are Mummies (and ghost?)

• Go in this room through the teleporter. Now you are standing in a long straight hall. Go south. Somewhere in the middle of this is a secret teleporter that teleports you back to the beginning. Pick a hole in the middle of the hall (see the Burst Arrows), and go under the teleporter. Come back up and walk south again. At the end, go west, up the ramp and down into a round chamber. In this room are some Ghosts, Stalkers and 4-5 Demon Skeletons. Go down the stairs.

• Go down the stairs north-east of here. You will have to go through: Ghosts, Stalkers, (Demon skeleton and many Scorpions.

• Go down the stairs south-west from here. On the way you will meet many Banshees. The Spectral Dress is located here, but you have to talk with The Queen Of The Banshees before you can take it.

• Go to the stairs north from here. Go up into the room. (here are ?). Go down the other stairs, and follow the way to the next stairs. Go up here.

• Walk north through this room. Here you meet Ghosts and Demon Skeletons (maybe it's smart for mages to use Invisible). Go down the stairs.

• From here you go east and follow this way. Go down the stairs.

• Here is The Queen Of The Banshees, guarded by: Banshees, Ghosts. (and Stalkers?)

(I dont know all the monsters at the places, if you know update this)

• After you talked to the The Queen Of The Banshees and she said that you can take the dress, retrace your steps back to the dress (see pictures). Once you get the Spectral Dress, head back to the Explorer Society.

Latest Research Reports

• Take mission from Port Hope.

• Then you just need to travel in Northport in Explorer Society base and say "latest research reports" and go back in Port Hope and ask new mission.

Astral Bridge

• Take new mission from Port Hope's Explorer Society and then Angus will give you a Spectral Stone. Use it on the strange carving in upstairs. Go in Northport base and do this same. Then ask new mission. After this there are no more missions to take. Now you are able to travel between Port Hope and Northport via Explorer Society. You only need to have Orichalcum Pearls in your backpack that you can buy from Explorer Society's bases for 80 gp.
