See also: A Visit to Thais
Thais is the oldest city of Tibia, ruled by King Tibianus III, and the capital of the Kingdom of Thais. It is located on the southwestern part of the Tibian Continent, here. Two rivers form its southern and northern border, strong Stone Walls and the Bay of Thais to the west protect the city from possible invasions.

Thais was named after Thais, a legendary warrior who founded the settlement. When he first constructed it, he named it Tradespot, but his son Tibianus I renamed it to Thais in honour of his father after being crowned king.

In the city you can find many shops and places to socialize with friends, such as, Frodo's Hut, the Games Hall and The Knight's Arena. Nevertheless, Thais can be a dangerous place in Open PvP and Hardcore PvP, due to the abundance of Player Killers.

Hunting Places

There are a few good hunting spots around Thais. The Ancient Temple just outside the north gate and Thais Troll Cave somewhat further north are good places for new adventurers. Mount Sternum to the northeast, the Cyclops Camp to the south and Mintwallin deep underground are also good places to earn Experience and Loot. The Thais Dragon Lair is a great place for those looking for a challenge.
