## Zaoan Legs versus Dwarven Legs

Zaoan Legs aren't better than Dwarven Legs are they? From quick calculations (which might not be accurate) I found that according to the armor formulas we have here on wiki, a monster only has to do over 34 physical on average for dwarven legs to absorb the same amount of damage.
If I remember it when I'm done hunting and such today I will try to refine my calculations and see what I will come up with.

Ok, I've done some more calculations now (please let me know if you come up with something else):
It seems that for average damages of 32 and below Golden Legs are the best choice. That means max hits of 64.
For average damages from 33 up to 82 Golden Legs are equal to Zaoan Legs. That means max hits between 66 and 164.
For average damages from 57 up to 189 Dwarven Legs are equal to Zaoan Legs. That means max hits between 114 and 378.
Finally, for average damages above 190 Dwarven Legs are better than Zaoan Legs. That means max hits of 380 or more.
In my first calculations I forgot about the rounding error. That's why it showed lower values. However the difference between Dwarven Legs and Zaoan Legs are minimal. For a monster such as Juggernaut that can hit 1480 with melee the difference between Dwarven Legs and Zaoan Legs is that you will receive 1444-1446 from a max hit if you use Zaoan Legs and 1430-1433 from a max hit if you use Dwarven Legs. Both of them are a lot better than the 1472-1476 you would receive if you use Golden Legs.
If these calculations are wrong I blame myself for being a bit tired at the moment.

I propose someone makes edits to some leg pages to account for Zaoan legs being the strongest obtainable legs available.

Supposing the research on armour is correct (that it reduces by approx 0.5-1 damage per armour).

I found from my own research (Thread #2829951) that the damage you take after each item with % damage reduction is applied is always rounded down, this means that the minimum effect the 2% physical resistance has is 1. From that you can see that you will always take the same or less damage using these legs - making them better than golden legs and also demon legs (can be use by all vocs).

forgot about dwarven legs- they might me parallel or better

I made some tests on spikes inside orc respawn on Greenshore, I have no problem calculating the damage from those spikes with dwarven legs and blue legs and after testing with each of those legs the maximum and minimum damages from the formula matches to the damages of the game. But with Zaoan Legs, the formulas doesn't match the real damages, I already checked formulas and tested again all hits on game but I can't create the calculation that matches the damage received with zaoan legs on those spikes. I'm starting to think Zaoan Legs have more than 2% of physical protection.

I'm using formulas on Formula#Armor_and_Defense

"Naked" damage from spikes: 60
Calculated damage from spikes with Zaoan Legs: min 52.2(52), max 55
In game damage from spikes with Zaoan Legs: min 51, max 54

I'm also interested which legs are stronger. I changed the article until conclusive research is available, apart from the results on this talk page. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 18:53, November 24, 2013 (UTC)

Doesn't Armor Protection Comparison explains it? — Arkshi 19:29, November 24, 2013 (UTC)
