Google gives 354,000 results for "change to game mechanics" whereas substituting mechanics for mechanism(s) gives 1-2 results. Also consider the physics fields ending in 'mechanics' (Newtonian mechanics, statistical mechanics). Google has nearly 1.4 million results for "game mechanics" and only 33 thousand for "game mechanisms". I think according to the original definitions of the words you would be correct, but language is a convention and not a rule (except maybe of some regulated languages). -- Sixorish (talk) 19:40, November 15, 2013 (UTC)
