I rechecked the number of tiles affected by the spell according to the gif and it looks to like the actual number is 112
Can anyone double check?

I'm not sure, but I would say the size of the Thunderstorm Effect is 64x64 pixels, which is 4 squares, but the actual affected area of damage could be only the south-eastern of those 4 squares.
