The "at least 697" curse hit was one that killed me. Took me by surprise since I didn't know it could do that much. I couldn't see the second to last hit but my estimation is that it did somewhere around 800-900 damage.

Someone was hit for 1430 by the curse.

People should try to use a Death Ring. The yalahar pieces should be a try too. That would probably reduce the curse damage.StradvariusTibiawiki.png T C 13:06, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Death ring, Koshei's ancient amulet and Yalahar mask/armor/leg piece = 18% protection from death. Still if it hits 1430 and you wear all that you still get ~1170 damage. For a mage that can spam 2 great mana potions/round there just isn't enough mana/hp to survive more than a few rounds.
So it all depends on how high the curse goes. Some are lucky. A guy I talked to before I did it said that on him it hit max 485.

The thing is. The longer it takes to kill the longer the curse will go for and the more damage it will do in one turn.

For Example:

Lasts for 1 minute.
Hits an extra 10 damage per hit. 1 hit every 5 seconds.

Therefore it will get up to 120 damage. Then the curse will go away.
BUT if your fighting Pythius for 4 minutes.

Thats an extra 4 minutes of the curse stacking. (Because the dragon will continue to Curse you)

120 + (120 x 4) = 600

So, What Im saying is. You must Kill it AS FAST AS POSSIBLE so the curse doesn't reach to the point where it will kill you in one hit.

It would be great if someone could calculate how much damage per turn the curse does. So we can create a table so people know how fast they need to kill it before the curse one hits them.

"makes you Cursed (+20% death damage per turn, last 34~ turns, around 2700 total damage)."

Page already says is 20% more each turn, it hits around 34 times per turn, each turn is 2 seconds so is around 1 minute. I think the curse is used by pythius only if you are next to him... but am not 100% sure. By turn 34 you get hit around 984_if your cursed again 10 seconds later you get hit 2449 and after that you will probably die, so you better kill him under a minute and 10 seconds. Maybe sugesting to run away if you get cursed to fast.

Optional PVP Fire walls last for as long as Open PVP ones now. Shouldn't strategy be edited?!Klapauciusrnex 16:24, July 10, 2010 (UTC)

About trash, fire field and items

That items below trash are daily spawn? Had tried someone put out the fire fields in the room with destroy field? Maybe will have something too.

Poison field strategy

A friend edited the page removing the strategy to use poison fields, but normal undead gladiators cannot walk over fields. I can't access the boss again since I've done the quest, but maybe someone else can test if it works?

If poison fields won't work to block the gladiator summons, then they must be a special type of undead gladiator which we would need to mention. -- Sixorish (talk) 13:45, December 6, 2012 (UTC)

I've also killed him already so I can't go there either. I checked Tibiacast records and as far as I can tell from tibiacast:recording:394817 (by Xupmindinski, level 125 MS) they walk around the poison fields, but I'm not entirely sure. A year old recording, tibiacast:recording:130032 (by Horgulf, level 100 Druid) shows them clearly avoiding the poison, but there's a tiny possibility that this has been changed since.
