Experience as of 2010 (need testers)
I added that it was 300*L but it apparently is not a linear function at all: a level 349 traded 15 to get 240k experience (80 experience per level per shard if we consider 200 to be the max still).
Could other players please check in-game? We need your level and experience gained per shard.
Note that you don't need to sell it, Lucius says something like "Do you want to trade your shards for X experience points?" so you don't lose them (and can test on multiple characters!) -- Sixorish 05:39, November 13, 2010 (UTC)
I used 10 Shards with my EK 184 ang got 552,000 exp, (52k exp per shard), so yes, its 300*L the formula. BUT mirade saids that L>200. So, if youre lvl 200 or more, L=200. That's why a lvl 349 got less points.
EDIT: O i see now, the lvl 349 should won 900k exp. Maybe this guy trade bugged shards, or maybe he reached the limit of shards and only changed 4 for exp and the rest for money. 4 shardsa at lvl 200=60k exp, *4 shards = 240k exp.
Anyway, im buying more shards and i post here the results :p

I think that for premium players with full stamina there is
Well Sez i am level 220(40 shards gave to me lots of exp)
First i gave 30 shards(i'm not sure how many were in all chests, i lit every basin) at 219 level(i've got 1,8kk exp on green stamina as pacc).
At level 220 i gave 10(?) shards(from ms) and i got 1,2kk exp(still on green stamina)
I can't create any formula for that. I've got misguided on my calc, sorry.

Ok, I tested it myself from 22 - 32, it is indeed fixed at 300L for some range. Let's assume that it's 300L for . We need testers for levels 201+ to figure out if it is linear or not above 200. -- Sixorish 22:35, November 15, 2010 (UTC)
Trading if event fails
Is it possible to trade midnight shards for experience points while the event is still running, or if the event fails? This page doesn't specify that.
