Am i the only one who thinks that no page should say "Negotiable gp"? If that is all it says, what is the point of putting on a section that tells you the loot value? Obviously the price of every sellable item in Tibia is able to be negotioated, and this site reassuring us of that doesnt exactly help.

you got a point there but the main reason why theres negotiable gp on most pages is becouse the prices are very differnt from world to world, but you are right maybe we should put the prices of the most expensive and the cheapest world there, like 5000-20000 gp or something <Foggy>
Well, you must consider a lot of variables, djinn/npc price, how rare the item can be, how hard it can be to sell it, etc. In case of medusa shield, it's worst than a vampire shield and better than a crown shield. But it don't have a fixed djinn price. In new worlds it can be very valuable because of it's nice def and it's used on an addon. But on old worlds the value is low because many high levels loot this item and cannot sell, some of then sell for lower than 8k (crown shield price on djinns), so it's hard to fix a price of a item that have such a large variance of price and no NPC price. It can be 5k to 50k, depending on the server etc. Maybe negotiable is fine, for such items. Or you must make a large research on the item price, so you can be accurate enough. -- † Pudd Knight † Talk Contribs -- 18:03, 18 August 2007 (PDT)
You also have to take into account that in a year, the servers that are new now, will be old. This will significantly lower the value of any given item. What i think should happen is that 1 person on a relatively new server and 1 person on a relatively old server should open the trade channel and record the highest and lowest offered price for the given item. They should then average out the maximum and minimum prices and apply this to its respective page. In doing this, a viewer to the page will get a good deal when trying to sell an item, and when trying to buy the same item.

It can change from "new" to "new" server, like from "old" to "old" server believe me. You can get prices "near the reality". But if you can succeed this research, good luck.

It would take more than just me to conduct such research, but if you are interested in this method, i could be of assistance. I play on Calmera, which is an old server, so i can get some prices from the trade channel there. Also, for the record, I am not looking to have every page marked with the perfect and exact loot value, but just a round ballpark figure for each. The way i see it, an item like a medusa shield, which has been around for quite some time now, should at least have an estimate recorded. I can understand if there is an unknown loot value for one of the newly added items, just because we havent yet gotten used to the statistics and rarity of that item. But people look at these pages to learn about different aspects of Tibia, and with no listed loot value, they can't learn.
Uhmm... wut?[]
How was this item implemented in 7.5 if the Medusa Shield Quest was in 7.3? -- Wouterboy (talk) 22:16, July 26, 2015 (UTC)
