shouldn't these be listed as the 2nd best boots in the game? Truekid 00:42, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

crystal boots and dragon scale boots might be considered better (3% instead of 2% protection). On the other hand, boots of haste, firewalker boots or soft boots can also be considered better, from another point of view. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 06:55, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

certainly, BOH or Softies could be considered better. I guess I mean they've got more focused protection against physical damage than any other boots except potentially golden boots. perhaps a statement like on the other physical protection gear- "this is better than golden boots when taking physical damage in excess of xxx"? ARMOR Vs. PHYS RESIST

I dont know exactly where this should go, but i was wondering about the difference between armor value and physical resist %, is there a page about how much each armor point protects? basically what im getting at is, when is 1 armor equal to 1% physical protection? 2%? i mean theres got to be some sort of formula to be made saying when physical resistance is better and when armor is better. i think there might need to be a page about armor value and resistances. something saying like 1 arm blocks XXmin/XX max, 2 arm blocks XXmin/XXmax, then also have a table saying 1% phys resist blocks XXmin/XXmax@50dmg, XXmin/XXmax@100dmg, XXmin/XXmax@200dmg.

it could look something like this:

Tibia-Stats did an article on resistance vs. armor a few months ago. Armor reduces damage an absolute amount while the resistance depends on damage done. At 50 damage, 1% physical resistance is about equal to 2 armor points. They have some more info in their article, but that's pretty much the important equality point. Thank you, do you know of any way of getting ahold of that article??

anyway, honestly, i feel like 50dmg is a pretty good number to set the standard at for comparing items. its low enough to be a VERY common damage to receive, but high enough to be easy to calculate with. 100dmg is kind of a high damage to compare by since thats not a super common damage to take, and especially since we know that as the damage goes up the resistance will just get better, and its much harder to guess how much it will change going down. I see many different "Golden legs are better if you get hit by 109AuroraArgondmg per turn" "Zaoan legs are better than dwarf legs @ XX dmg." etc, etc. I think that for the sake of uniformity, on all these pages with notes like that, there might should be a note that shows the comparison based on 50dmg, and then a note saying what average you have to take for them to be equal.

basically, im just saying i think its kinda confusing how it is set up now with each piece being compared by different numbers, and i feel like it would be nice to have everything set up more uniformly. set up some kind of standard for comparison, if you will.

sincerely,

I included a link to the article at the end of my previous comment labeled 'source'. Actually, my previous information was slightly inaccurate. At 50 damage, 2 armor = 3% resistance. Here's the full link in case you missed it: article Kharzad Ironfist 15:19, March 21, 2010 (UTC)
