Chance to lose the Cup of Molten Gold[]

On one of my characters I've tried to use 5 Cups of Molten Gold and I lost all of them (this message appeared every time "Drizzling all over a fir cone you picked from the tree, the molten gold only covers about half of it - not enough.". The first 2 I tried on the same Fir Tree (thinking if it covered half the first time it will cover the rest the second time), and the other 3 I used on 3 different Fir Trees. Every try ended with me losing the Cup of Molten Gold and having a Cup (Pirate) under me. Granted it's the same character that has never been able to get any mount... Still it would be nice to know what the chance of success is.

If you want to create a sort of statistics i'll try to help you
My friend(266 ed) had 14 ignots, he got 2 golden firs
I had 18 ignots and 5 fir cones(8 attempts before first taming item)
Another friend(180 ms) got one item from 15 ignots and Nevaran got 5 failed attempts so we have in total 52 attempts and 8 golden fir cones.
It's ~15% of chance

Regarding the chance to get the item[]

The chances to get the golden fir cone out of a molten cup of gold are of 8%. It actually goes from 5% to 10%, so the medium is 8%. I used 50 molten cups of gold and got 4 golden fir cones. Theory: confirmed. Also tried on test server with 114 molten cups of gold and got 9 golden fir cones. So yes, the chances to get the item are of 8%. Whisperer 00:49, July 7, 2011 (UTC)

Hello

Im from magera, I used 50 molten golds, and got only 5 golden fir cones.

So the chances to get it are around 10% :) !! So you may get 1 tamming item and 9 fails each 10 attempts

Also Im editing the loot value, because at least in my server (Magera) gold ingots now are sold for 30K each so if you want to get the tamming item, you may need to get 10 gold ingots (300k) to be able to get the item according to the probabilities ... !! So if you have to spend 300K to get it, I think it must worth around 250-500K ! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kaiser Feer (talkcontribs). Remember to sign your comments!

Better to make a page like Belongings of a Deceased/Statistics or Crate (Usable)/Statistics to get some more accurate statistics for making this item. The more statistics the better the chance of finding out the real percentage. It is quite possible that the percentage from the test server is no longer the same as the percentage now.

It's also way too early to be judging the value, which in my opinion should also be discussed about how to be done before being added. I'm going to protect some of these taming items against edit wars on prices. Just look at this, the majority of the edits are about price only and little to nothing useful has been added. If there is anymore to be added, there is still the talk page. Beejay 01:31, July 8, 2011 (UTC)

The price of this item vaires primarily based on whether the server completed the lightbearer event. Servers that completed the lightbearer event got their markets flooded with gold ingots and most people who wanted a white deer as a mount got one. Servers that did not complete lightbearer event are going to have a much higher price on this item. On Amera (lightbearer completed) it's roughly 40-80k to my knowledge. I would assume it's closer to 200-400k on servers that didn't complete it is probably nearly as rare as, if not moreso many of the other taming items. I really think that if a price is even listed for this item, it should encompass a very wide margin. Since there is an ~10% chance of getting a cone from a gold ingot, it doesn't make sense for it to be less than 50k, but that doesn't really mean it won't go for less. A lot of things in tibia don't really make sense.

Changed. Was meant to say that you do not need to have done The Sweaty Cyclops Quest. Thank you. Beejay (talk) 17:17, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

Better way to create golden fir cones[]

Just use the molten cups of gold on fir cones themselves rather than fir trees, much higher chance to get golden cones that way. I've been doing that for over a month now and made lots of money off it.

Last two batches I made were 87 molten cups and then (today), I used 37. From the first batch I got 19 cones and from the 2nd I got 8, so together it combines to around a 21% chance. From my prior experience a 20% chance to get a golden cone was also accurate, and on average that's what you'll get - some batches will yield more, some less, but in the long run 20% of the time is how often you'll get your cone. I once remember getting 9 golden cones out of 21 molten cups, but then there were batches where I barely broke even.

This is profitable most of the time, of course becoming more so if your costs are less. Making a single cone will cost you at least 25k on average, assuming you're able to buy the necessary ingots for 5k apiece. They usually go for a little bit more, but I wouldn't recommend buying ones more expensive than 5,500. It's still profitable even at 6k, since your costs are 30k and your earnings will be anywhere from like 48 to 58k per cone, depending on market saturation. Obviously, it's much better to keep costs as low as possible and charge as much as possible, though 60k per cone is probably the fair upper limit. You'll be perfectly fine if you charge 50k, anything more is a nice bonus.
