Does this boots make you walk slower somehow?

These boots keep your toes warm in even the iciest regions but they feel kind of heavy.

I wonder if this is just to show they're heavier on oz or if they make you slower or something like that...

Since I actually own not only Fur Boots but also Crocodile Boots and Pirate Boots, I decided to test them all - and every kind have the same walking speed as you would have without any boots equipped. :P

I think they slow you down too , try put em on while walking with no boots , difference isn`t huge , but it`s there ..

There is most definately a difference, i don't know if it's because of my peculiar level, but when i cast great haste on myself and wear fur boots, there's a HUGE difference in speed compared to NOT wearing the boots and casting great haste. I'm level 105 btw.

i have tested... fur boots.. soft boots.. boots of haste... crocodrile boots... pirate boots.. and normal boots. my test was like this.. first.. i got all boots on my backpack.. then i went to a road.. i counted 40 squaremeters. and i walked with the diferent boots.. i counted the time.. and i change surfaces.. my results where this.... with soft, crocodrille, pirate and normal boots.. on earth they walk the same speed... the "haste" where faster.. and fur boot gave me 1 second late but on ice surface fur boots gave no diferent time... i dont know if my tests are alright becouse there might be lag on my test... but i will continue testing... and remember that diferent surfaces give diferent results.. you must test all of them. i was lvl 68 when i test

I gave to my friend a fur boots because of the better defense, and I told him to see if he notice any speed difference. He said it make him a little slower but he didn't tested it on many fields... maybe as you said the boots get you slower on non-ice fields, or your test on the ice was not accurate since on ice you are a lot slower. If you can make the test again, try map-clicking. Make marks on your minimap so you'll aways walk to the same spot, map walks ignore somehow your lag. In my opinion this boots really make you slower, but, I'm not 100% sure...

They really make walking slower? It is kind of weird, because heavier (in weight and in material) Steel Boots are stated on theirs page that they do not slow down...

These boots reduce your walking speed by 6 levels, or 12 points on the internal speed stat. The difference of 6 levels is MOST -literally- noticeable on high-speed terrain like roads and drawbridges, however it's most -visually- noticeable on other slower types of terrain, like grass, non-muddy dirt, and so forth. Most speed changes aren't very noticeable at all on super-slow terrain like mud, underwater, etc.

@ Wilk

If the speed is really lower, that could be explained due to the material it is made (fur). Imagine someone running with a boots made of fur. Steel bots are heavy but the oz is not really what determine if someone could run more or less (at least in my point of view, only if it was MUCH heavier of course)

@ Caprizon

How did you managed it is 12 points (or 6 levels) exactly? If you have some concrete stuff you can edit the fur boots page and add this note.

Pudd Knight, imagine a running knight in steel boots and heavy armor, and a person in furs and fur boots... (and nothing to say, but steel is heavier than uncomfortable furs...) I know that this are deep ingame equations and maybe authors see it different, but maybe the calculations are wrong - I want to say, that maybe steel boots are also slowing down now?

i haven't noticed any difference in speed, maybe most of you are used to walking with BOH :P
