Quara[]

I don't think Deeplings could be related to Quara or classified as one of them. The tibia.com Library also does not say anything about that. Maybe they should be classified as just "Humanoids", or perhaps "Magical Creatures"? –Arkshi 00:49, August 18, 2011 (UTC)

Thing is, they're obviously amphibians. While Quara may not be the best classification, I don't feel like adding a "Misc (Amphibians)" category for just one creature. Also, if you classify it as a "humanoid" without specifying the type, it will not appear in any creature list.

We should probably consult Craggles about this, he's more or less our creature expert.

I must be missing something. What makes it obvious that they are amphibians? Their body shape suggests to me that they share closer evolutionary backgrounds with humans, making them a humanoid. Since CipSoft does not disclose any other anatomic or physiologic information we can only assume based on their body image(?) -- Sixorish 16:25, August 20, 2011 (UTC)

Also, as far as I am aware there is no such thing as a bipedal amphibian. -- Sixorish 19:26, August 20, 2011 (UTC)

from what i see it is an Amphibian first of all. when you look at [Cips Deepling Scout Art] it has gills, few diffrent fins (he also drops them), a fish-like teeth and bubbles (suggesting its underwater) around it. nevertheless it also has nose and ears which he wont be needing underwater..aswell as the fact that he apears to walk on 2 legs... well.. Quaras posses human like qualities aswell, but i think this creature is abit more humanoid so it will fit the story as you drain it's mines and it still able to live and attack you and wont just flop like a fish on the ground. --~ Vapaus 20:40, August 20, 2011 (UTC)

So there seem to be one main problem with our system: we are trying to categorize fantasy creatures in real world taxa. I'm not a biologist but I believe taxonomy tries to map species based on their evolutionary history - which we can't really determine beyond analysis of their superficial traits. Since we obviously cannot ascertain fully in which to categorize some creatures, I would suggest to abolish our system in favor of a primary- and secondary- type system as we have in place for items. -- Sixorish 14:40, August 22, 2011 (UTC)
