===Legs===
There ig a glitch in Tibia that makes some monsters a bad choice for taking the monk shielding spots. For instance, if you use 2 rotworms every now and then the sequence will change and you'll move onto a shielding spot. You won't be able to bleed the monk so your training will effectively stop. This is no big deal if you're playing close attention, but if you're watching a movie or tv it might take you half an hour before you realise you're no longer bleeding the monk. If you use monsters that do this, you will need to stop attacking the monk for a couple of seconds, then start attacking it again.

If you have a summoned or convinced ghoul and you attack something but don't kill it, the defence of the ghoul is lowered. If you go and kill another monster with the ghoul, say a wolf, the defence of the ghoul is raised back up to normal. You can also experiment with this to get the most out of your ghoul training. It makes a large difference too, with it's defence high I can train full attack with a crowbar without killing it, with it's defence low I easily kill it on full defence with a crowbar.

Training on slimes is slightly slower than using a monk because when a slime dies it takes a few seconds for the new one to get to you.

* Get 1 wild slime and find a place where you can block yourself in with only 2 monsters attacking you.

* Hit the original slime so you can tell it's not a summon, don't kill it.

* Now just hit the summoned slimes for your training, the wild slime will summon you an infinite amount.

You will probably need to use a very weak weapon and if your skills are high even using weak weapons you will kill the slimes fast.

Sword Fighting is the skill of fighting with a sword weapon.

The Tibian with the highest Sword skill is Aria Ulth from Menera with 123.

Vocations

Sword Fighting is the most common Melee skill for Knights.

Like the other Melee skills, Sword Fighting advances more quickly for Knights than any other vocation.

Paladins will only ever use melee skills as a back-up in case they run out of Ammunition for their Distance Weapons.

Druids and Sorcerers will also use melee skills as a back-up in case they run out of Runes or Mana. They also use melee skills when hunting casually while they are making runes or collecting food.

Benefits and Drawbacks

Sword Fighting is the most balanced of all of the melee skills.

The primary benefit of sword fighting is that most Sword Weapons have very comparable attack and defense values. As the attack value of the sword weapons increase, so do the defense values. They are generally lighter than Axe Weapons or Club Weapons, and there are also more sword weapons in Tibia than any other kind. Also, Sword is the only weapon skill to have a shield that boosts its attribute (Shield of Corruption).

The greatest drawback to sword fighting is that strong Sword Weapons are more difficult to find (or even unobtainable, at least for now), and are slightly more expensive than other weapons. Also, Sword Rings tend to be more expensive than its axe and club counterparts.

Creatures

Sword fighting can be used on almost any creature, but it is best when used against creatures that do not have a melee attack, or have a very weak melee attack. This way, you can approach them quickly and attack them. Many creatures without melee attacks will not use their distance attacks if you are right next to them, they will be to busy trying to run away from you.

Sword fighting is least effective against creatures that have strong defense or shielding, and strong melee attacks.

Another drawback is that the sword rings are difficult to loot, so it's not that cheap to buy them from other players.

Sword Fighting Bonuses

Sword Fighting bonuses can either be temporary or permanent. The following items provide a Sword Fighting bonus:
