- Me strong! Me ate spinach!
- Groar!
- Grrrr
Notes
Swamp Trolls are a variety of normal trolls that live in the swamps in the east of Tibia. Like the other tribes of trolls, they hunt animals and seek treasures. But they are a bit stronger and they soak their claws with the extracts of some poisonous herbs they collect in the swamps in order to envenom their opponents. So they can be quite dangerous to inexperienced adventurers.
They are a bit stronger than Trolls and Frost Trolls and they can poison you, but they are not immune to earth themselves which means Druids with Snakebite Rods or Terra Rods are able kill them rather easily, although not recommended for level 13- Druids. After the 8.2 summer update they now drop Spears as loot which makes them a good choice for low level Paladins to hunt.
At least some Swamp Trolls around Venore worship the Football according to the book Holy Book of Swamptrolls.
Abilities
Damage Taken From Elements
Location
Port Hope Swamp Trolls, Venore Swamp Troll Cave, all around north area of Port Hope, small spawn north-west of Venore and in cave south-east of Thais (here), also one in Foreigner Quarter.
Behaviour
They run when they are with low health.
A swamp troll attacks in melee range.
Strategy
Just attack them, there's no big difference between them and Trolls. Always have food, because the poison can be annoying for low levels. Low level mages can wear a Terra Hood to block their 1 HP per turn poison.
History
Appearance Change
Before the 8.1 Update, swamp trolls looked like this:
Loot Change
After a small patch during August 6, 2009 server save (announced here) they drop Troll Greens.
The reason is probably because 2 are required in the Hot Cuisine Quest.
Convince
As of November 16, 2011, Swamp Trolls as well as other poison-causing creatures can no longer be convinced. This was to prevent PvP abuse whereby a player would trick another player into convincing creatures that would later frag low level characters with poison applied earlier. After enough kills the player would obtain a Red Skull and would lose all items belonging to them upon being killed. More can be read in the news article "Content Fixes".
Loot Change 2
After Updates/9.8 they drop Mouldy Cheese, because this item is required for a task in the Goblin Merchant Quest and should be easily available to low leveled players. This was suggested by a player on the test server forum.
