You see a scorpion

    Notes

Scorpions live in the swamps and deserts of Tibia. They usually hunt small animals but when they get excited they even attack humans. Their very poisonous sting penetrates even thick armor so that they can be a great threat when they attack surprisingly. As their defence is quite weak you should strive to do the first strike.

They are dangerous for inexperienced players as they can inject powerful poison, which deals around 315 damage total. Good for poisoning weak enemies when summoned, but remember that a lot of creatures are immune to poison. It is common to see Player Killers pushing players to Scorpions, like on top of the Plague Spike in Optional PvP worlds.

    Abilities

    Behaviour

Scorpions run when in very low health.

    Strategy

If you are hunting Scorpions, use distance fighting or runes. You can use Parcels or other objects to block them and kill them from distance.
If you want to fight them with melee, buy the Antidote spell.

    History

As of November 16, 2011, Scorpions as well as other poison-causing creatures can no longer be convinced. This was to prevent PvP abuse whereby a player would trick another player into convincing creatures that would later frag low level characters with poison applied earlier. After enough kills the player would obtain a Red Skull and would lose all items belonging to them upon being killed. More can be read in the news article "Content Fixes".
