- Rotrender Hexed Horror (initial form of the boss, immune to all damage)
- Rotrender Scourge of Azzilon (with new spells, extra resistance, and extra damage)
- Rotrender Hexed Scourge (same as Scourge of Azzilon, but immune to all damage)
NPC A Vision of the Past talks about the Rotrender.
After leaving the boss room, players have to wait 10 minutes before being able to enter again.
Abilities

Damage Taken From Elements

Location
In Edron area, within the Azzilon Castle, here.
Strategy
These are the mechanics observed so far through analysis of all the public attempts. It is still under construction, as a common strategy has not been popularized yet.
Charges
When entering the room, some characters will receive a random amount of Green Shield charges, this counter can go up to a maximum of 3 and protects characters from Rotrender's beam ability, losing one charge instead of taking very high Life Drain damage. Every character in the room will take 1,000 Agony Damage every 2 seconds. Around 10~ seconds after entering the room, characters will start charging up their
Red Ball counter at a rate of 1 every 3 seconds, to a maximum of 100.
Initially, the boss will be in its Rotrender Hexed Horror form, which is immune to all damage. It will start by having a Cummulated Energy counter at 100 charges. When players get hit by Rotrender's Grey Wave spell, for every 10
Red Ball charges in each character hit by the spell, the boss will absorb it and increase its own
Cummulated Energy counter by 1 charge, up to a maximum of 200, becoming stronger. Players will have to interact with the rifts on the room to charge their
Green Ball Counters and transform the boss into its vulnerable form.

Rifts
Three different types of rifts can be found on the floor around the room. Initially, multiple Pulsating Rifts are available. The boss will not walk over them. When a character stands on top of one, it will transform into a
Contained Rift, making that character take 1,400~1,500 Agony Damage every 2 seconds and charging up their
Green Ball counter by 1 per second. Only one character can charge up at a time. After this counter reaches 11:
- the character on this rift will be force pushed south east and transformed into a
Storm for 5 seconds
- the character will gain between 0 and 2
Green Shield charges
- the cooldown of 30 seconds for the transformed character will start for this mechanic (You will have to wait before you can contain more energy!)
- the
Contained Rift will immediately become a
Volatile Rift for 10 seconds, and then become a
Pulsating Rift that can be used again by a character with no cooldown
The boss can be passed on top of a Volatile Rift, which resets its
Cummulated Energy counter back to 100 (The rift disperses rotrenders cummulated energy!), and transforms the rift back into a
Pulsating Rift that can be immediately used by a character with no cooldown.

Contained Rift | Activated state of a rift. Characters stepping on it take additional Agony Damage per second and will charge up until they become a Storm. |
![]() |
Volatile Rift | Temporary state of a rift. Lasts for 10 seconds. The boss can be passed on top of it to reset its Cummulated Energy. |
Forms and Healing
To make the boss vulnerable to damage, a character in Storm form must get near the boss, exploding when the transformation expires (You release a powerful, damaging energy sourge!). Hitting the boss with this explosion will cause around 7,500~11,000 Agony Damage to it, and transform it into its vulnerable Rotrender stage for 10 seconds (or renew this timer, if it was already at this stage).
This damage does not impact other players, but everyone near the boss should be careful with receiving a combo in case the boss changes form, since switching forms allows it to attack immediately again and that can cause high spikes of damage.
The Rotrender Scourge of Azzilon form appears when Rotrender reaches around 20% HP. This form has higher damage, high resistances, and new spells, turning the progress of the battle considerably slower and more dangerous. Failing to renew the vulnerable timer for the boss at this stage will cause it to revert into its Rotrender Hexed Scourge form, which is as powerful as the Scourge form, but immune to all damage.
Any stage of the boss seems able to consistently heal over as much damage as it takes, with up to 60,000+ healing in rapid succession being observed in its Rotrender form, and up to 600,000 observed in its Scourge form. At some points during the fight, the boss drops Rotrenders Rots on the ground. It is assumed that stepping on the rot or being able to move and drop it on the ground is what allows the boss to heal. No known strategy to cut its healing has been found yet.
The fight is very dependent of the team as a whole being able to keep a constant pace of Storms exploding near the boss throughout the whole fight, resetting Rotrender's vulnerable timer without allowing it to switch back and forth between stages.

Protections
The blockers should consider high protection against Life Drain and Physical Damage, with Earth Damage being considerably high, and Death Damage not being negligible either.
Most shooters should be fine protecting against Earth Damage, because of possible chains and ranged earth spells. However, because using Mana Shield all the time is very expensive due to the constant ticks of Agony Damage, players should be aware that if the boss switches target, or if they position themselves on range of Rotrender's spells, they might take very high Life Drain or Death Damage.
History
First kills
It was first killed on Gentebra on June 7, 2025 (BRT), 110 days after its release, followed by Bona copying Gentebra's strategy on the next day, in June 8, 2025. However, the boss was not properly working back then, and was fixed on June 17, 2025 via patch 15.02.bc1c97. These successful kills were possible because the boss did not heal constantly when blocking it on top of a Rift.
The animation below contains the strategy used by the first two teams to beat Rotrender before the fix:
marks the position for the blockers, using four Knights trapping the boss on the middle of the room, with the main Knight challenging it away from most shooters
marks good spots to have the Storms coming from all directions to explode near the boss
- using predefined groups for each rift around the room, consisting of at least 2 people constantly charging their Storm forms and exploding near the boss
- using Magic Walls to help block the beams and waves, for the people doing mechanics on the rifts north, east, south, and west of the boss
- having shooters grouped around
Pulsating Rift diagonally to the boss

Failed Attempts
Ignoring worlds that did not even try or did not stream their runs publicly, below is a list of worlds that tried and failed before it managed to be killed for the first time:
