- 100x Demonic Core Essences;

- Note: The quest progress is influenced by a world change, and the subterranean levels of Azzilon are be blocked until enough Demonic Core Essences have been handed over to Lai by players. The exact amount of core essences is unknown.
- Once enough core essences are handed over, a server-wise message is reported to players, and the mist blocking the stairs fades away (The mists in Azzilon have retreated!)
To boldly go...[]
Meet NPC Fernlor in Edron, at the Noodles Academy of Modern Magic (here). Talk to him and he'll tell you he needs your help to investigate an anomaly that he discovered. Ask him what is the mission and he'll tell you he found a disturbance at some remote, uncharted isle to the east and that he set a teleport to such isle.
Enter the orange teleport and you'll be teleported to the Azzilon Castle. Go down the stairs and up another set to enter the castle, and keep moving north until you reach the inner southeast tower (here). Go up the tower and meet Lai at the center of floor +3.
Ask her for a mission and she'll tell you need to collect Demonic Core Essences which she'll use to drive away the lethal mist in the catacombs and even provide you with some sort of protection from its lingering effects.
Evil to the core[]
Collect 100 Demonic Core Essences from inferniarchs in the area and return to Lai. Give her the essences and she'll explain to you the more essences you bring, the more resilient against the demonic corruption you will become. Additionally, you can now use the essences yourself without needing to run back to Lai.
From this point you'll have a rank based on how many essences you have delivered to Lai. As you can see in the table below, not every rank provides a reward to the player but every rank will decrease the amount of Agony Damage a player will receive.
Note that the damage is continuously inflicted to the players every 20 seconds they are in any of the underground floors and the damage amount is calculated by the player's current health points. For example, a player with rank 1 and currently with 10,000 health points will receive 450 damage from the demonic corruption.
Rank | Essences | Reward | Damage |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 100 | 4.5% | |
2 | 200 | 4.0% | |
3 | 400 | 3.5% | |
4 | 800 | 3.0% | |
5 | 1,600 | Access to the last floor in the Catacombs | 2.5% |
6 | 3,200 | 2.0% | |
7 | 6,400 | 1.5% | |
8 | 12,800 | 1.0% | |
9 | 25,600 | 0.5% | |
10 | 51,200 | Tear the Toxic Veil achievement | 0.0% |
A ward winning[]
Ask Lai for a mission, and she will ask you to activate ancient crystals located in the towers of the castle.
Start with the northwest tower and activate the remaining three (northeast, southeast, and southwest towers) before the northwest crystal runs out of energy.
A troubled soul[]
Ask Lai for a mission and you'll learn that the poisonous mist is retreating, and she also sensed an untainted soul in great despair somewhere downstairs. Be aware that the creatures on lower floors are stronger!
Go downstairs to the -1 hunting area and walk southeast (here). Enter the teleport, and you'll meet Ortelio, who will immediately ask you to help him out of his prison. He tells you that the key to open his cell could be anywhere but that he has seen a Mummified Demon Finger used to open it before, and he suggests you find some of these fingers.
The key person[]
Hunt the creatures in the area and loot some Mummified Demon Fingers. The exact number of fingers you need depends on luck, but around 10 to 20 fingers should be enough to free Ortelio. Note that the fingers will break regardless of success or failure.
Use the fingers on the cell door until you are teleported inside the cell, then head back to Lai. When reporting your mission, she will say there's a lot to learn from what Ortelio discovered about the inferniarchs. She also tells you that she has synchronized herself with the resonances of the past of the castle and is willing to share her vision with you of what she's learned so far.
Vision of the Past[]
Ask Lai for a mission again and accept her offer to harmonize you with the Essence of Azzilon . You will then be teleported to a new room where you can meet NPC A Vision of the Past.
Say hi to the vision, then return to Lai by entering the portal located south in the room.
Blast from the past[]
Once again report your mission to Lai and you'll learn that, based on Ortelio's information, you need to disrupt the demon's operations. The most effective way to do this, he says, is by freeing their troll slaves.
Head to the catacombs and meet Ortelio on the -2 floor.
Feeding the trolls[]
- This task has a maximum duration of 600 seconds (10 minutes). Cooldown for it is around 10~12 minutes.
Once you get to the -2 floor, go southeast and enter the teleport here. From this point, all tasks in this quest use a lever for 5 players, and it's highly recommended to have as many players as possible.
Use the food dispenser in the southwest corner of the room to get Some Troll Food, then use it on a Hungry Slave Troll. Once this is done, it will turn into a Fed Slave Troll for a few seconds and start moving north, then get hungry again. Repeat the process until 20 trolls have reached the green portal in the north area, and the mission will be successful.
Return to Lai and ask for your next mission.
Imp-ossible Mission[]
- This task has a maximum duration of 600 seconds (10 minutes). Cooldown for it is around 10~ minutes.
Next, head to the northeastern part of the cave on floor -2, where a portal can be found (here). Activate the lever and assemble a team of up to 5 players.
The task is to kill 25 Charged Imps while preventing the counter of the Powercollector in the middle of the room from reaching 25.
Each time a Charged Imp is killed, the counter will increase by 1. Eliminate the Imp Wardens to increase the chance of new Charged Imps spawning. When a Charged Imp spawns, it heads straight for the Powercollector, thus you and your team must block its way to the collector by standing in front of it, or by having two players surround themselves with Imp Wardens close to the collector. If it crosses the floor surrounding the Powercollector, it will disappear, and the counter will increase by 1.
As the team kills the Charged Imps and the counter increases, more enemies will spawn, increasing the difficulty. Protection against Energy attacks is recommended.
Once enough Charged Imps have been killed, report the progress back to Lai.
Teach a man to fish...[]
Next, head to floor -2 and find the teleport to the fishing task. This time, use the Fishing Rod to fish up 25 Energy Spheres. Each energy sphere caught will add 1 point to the team’s total, and you'll get the message "GOT ONE!".
Be aware of Worker Imps in the room; they don’t need to be killed, but be wary of their attacks.
Once completed, return to Lai and report your mission.
With friends like these...[]
- Note: Don't forget to bring a Fishing Rod for this bossfight!
Finally, gather your team and head to the final boss fight. Go to floor -3 and use the portal to enter Arbaziloth's lair.
Before starting it is worth noting that the boss has two distinct modes:
- Easy: if players decide to kill The Forgemaster, Arbaziloth loot table will include Inferniarch Set weapons and Demon Claws, the first addon item for the Fiend Slayer Outfits.
- Hard: if players decide to spare The Forgemaster's life, Arbaziloth will fully heal and become stronger, but the loot table will switch to include helmets ( Demonfang Mask, Dreadfire Headpiece, Hellstalker Visor, and Maliceforged Helmet), the second addon item for the Fiend Slayer Outfits: Demon Skull, and the Demon In a Green Box item for the mount. Players are also granted access to the Doomforge.
As you enter the boss fight you'll face Arbaziloth, two Overcharged Demons and The Forgemaster. The Forgemaster, as mentioned before, is there so players can decide which kind of fight they will face, while the demons are summons that will keep on respawning as they die, however, note that killing them will heal Arbaziloth, so two common strategies are to lure them away in the room and lose their target, or have a player other than the main blocker to tank them.
At some point in the fight, as players attack Arbaziloth, he'll become invulnerable and a purple fire field will appear in a random spot in the room. Lure the boss over it and use your Fishing Rod on the boss to make him vulnerable again. It is recommended that all players use their fishing rods as the boss can dodge the use of the rod, making the fight last longer. This process will be repeated four times until all energy spheres are removed from Arbaziloth's arm.
If your team did not kill The Forgemaster during the fight, The Forgemaster will leave the fight a bit after the fourth mechanic is done, and Arbaziloth will heal himself fully. Right now, just attack him until he dies. No mechanics are needed to be done at this point. Note that the boss will deal more damage in this phase. Once the fight is over players can use the orange teleport in the room to access the Doomforge.
In case The Forgemaster died during the bossfight, Arbaziloth will not heal himself.
Reward[]
After defeating Arbaziloth, report a last time to Lai and you will receive the base Fiend Slayer Outfit.
Additionally, killing the boss 10 times in the Hard difficulty grants you access to an additional room in the Doomforge where you can get the base version of any Inferniarch Set weapon of your choice.
