According to a sign in front of the Fallen Tree (Something) in the Arena and Zoo Quarter, the eyes belong to a ratmonkey, which might be a reference to the Sumatran rat-monkey created by Peter Jackson for his 1992 film Braindead and later referenced in the 2005 remake of King Kong.
