Location

Morshabaal appears inside a teleporter that spawns at the stone circle in the northwest of Edron, here. Only characters of level 150 or higher can enter.

Behaviour

Morshabaal will retreat at very low health.

Strategy

Morshabaal has 3 stages with increasing strength:

It will always have a counter next to its name:

  • This counter starts at 25 with a green icon and decreases 1 per second
  • When it reaches 0, a new counter starts, with a red symbol, from 5 to 0
  • If Morshabaal is attacked during the red counter phase, it will change to the next stronger form

The stronger forms of Morshabaal take less damage and do more Damage Reflection, so the team must always focus on keeping it in the regular Morshabaal stage. Even though it is still possible to deal damage to it in the enraged form, it will not be very efficient. When it is in Furious stage, it will take very little damage and reflect a lot more of it, so teams should avoid reaching this stage as it is both dangerous and expensive to fight it.

While being targeted, the blockers will slowly build up a counter next to their name as well. When this counter reaches 20, the character will take more damage and Morshabaal will heal more through Lifesteal. The counter can be decreased by letting another blocker be the target.

The common strategy for killing Morshabaal is the following:

The blockers (preferably 3 level 600+ Elite Knights) bring Morshabaal to the north-east corner of the room and trap it next to one of the pillars. All shooters must stack diagonally near the eastern wall between two pillars. Players should only attack when the counter is above 5 and stop before it changes to the red symbol. The blockers should keep switching positions and taking turns at blocking it so that all knights can reduce their counters. Keep repeating the process of attacking and waiting to slowly reduce Morshabaal's health until it is defeated.

There are several key factors that must be taken into account during the fight:

  • If Morshabaal is not hit for 15 consecutive seconds, it will completely heal itself.
  • Morshabaal's Damage Reflection is very strong, so all players should wear Stone Skin Amulets, Might Rings and other physical/death protection as much as possible.
  • Morshabaal uses Fear, so players should place Flower Bowls around blockers and shooters to prevent running away when feared. Using bombs, such as Fire Bomb, is not recommended, since if Morshabaal steps on them it will take damage over time, possibly getting damaged during the red counter phase, becoming stronger.
  • The lower Morshabaal's health is, the stronger it will become, taking less damage. It does not take more than 3 turns with a decent amount of shooters to bring it to half HP, but it will take several minutes to finish it off. Also, because of this mechanic, it is very hard (if not impossible) to kill it while in Furious form, as it easily heals all damage taken.
  • Paladins should imbue their crossbows with Powerful Reap, because on lower health Morshabaal will mitigate all Physical Damage.
  • Morshabaal has a special chain attack that deals Ice Damage. The damage increases on each player it connects, starting with about 1000 to as much as 30,000. This chain only connects players directly adjacent to another, which is why it is essential to keep some distance between the blockers and the shooters.
  • The pillars in the room also reflect a lot of damage. Players should only use single target attacks Sudden Death Runes and Spectral Bolts and never hit the pillars.
  • If Morshabaal is not attacked for 40 seconds, all players will be kicked from the room and the fight resets. Because of that, it is important that some damage is dealt (during the green counter phase) in case it becomes Furious, or the team will lose all progress.
  • After a player enters the room, Morshabaal has to die within 30-35 minutes, otherwise it will heal to full health.
  • After leaving Morshabaal's room, players have to wait 3 minutes to be able to return.

History

Morshabaal first appeared on Havera on January 8, 2022, but it was not defeated. It was first killed on January 12, 2022, on Gentebra. The following day, CipSoft published news congratulating the players and informing that there were some problems with the loot distribution which were then fixed the next day.

On January 18th, 2022 a new adjustment to Morshabaal's fight was implemented which teleports all players out of Morshabaal's dwelling if no damage is caused within a period of 40 seconds. Additionally the participation for the fight is reset.
