The Maximum Armor Set aims to protect and potentially nullify the Physical Damage of weaker Creatures by prioritizing the Armor attribute before Physical Resistance and finally Defense. For protection against stronger physical attacks, the Blocking Set is preferable as Armor prevents damage by points instead of percentage.
Note that % physical damage reduction multiplies instead of stacking.
Although no weapon offer Armor or Physical Resistance, many Melee weapons offer a +3 Defense modifier, for example:
- Axe Weapons: Soulbiter and Vile Axe
- Club Weapons: Soulcrusher and Blessed Sceptre
- Sword Weapons: Soulcutter and The Justice Seeker
Because only Melee weapons provides bonus to Defense while wearing a Shield, non-Knights often opt for a weapon of their Vocation.
