Legend

Test your ability in a challenge of wits and agility. Will your world be richly blessed or will you leave Kurik unimpressed?

Location

Darashia (north of town, here).

Dangers

Possibly lured Wasps and Nomads around the entrance, but nothing can harm you during the challenge.

Reward

Shapeshifter Ring, Reward Box, the Master Shapeshifter achievement and a temporary 20% increase in respawn rates for the server.

Event starts on the 20th of each month.

Required Equipment

• Shapechanger, given by NPC Casper.
• Lower levels may need speed boosting items, such as Time Ring, Boots of haste, etc. (See Speed).

Method

Go to cave north of Darashia

The instructions are written in the two books that are placed in Casper's room.

• The events starts each 4 hours during a special time, 15 minutes before the race starts you will see a broadcast messege anouncing the race :

• When the event starts, all participants must be in the event room and will be teleported into the challange area:

NOTE : Don't forget to have your Shapechanger with you when participating the event, else you won't be able to complete the challange.

• Once the event starts you will be teleported to the challange area, use your Shapechanger wand as fast as you can. this will turn you to one of the following 8 creatures : Lost Soul, Thalas (Mummy), Carniphila, Quara Hydromancer, Blightwalker, Mutated Rat, Zombie or Nightstalker.
• You can also put your Shapechanger on a hotkey to reduce the time needed to change your apperance.
• You will be turned into a one of these creatures and only have a few seconds to reach the corresponding teleporter. as shown in the picture of the challange area.
• If you do not manage to reach the teleporter, you have lost your chance on that occasion and are out. teleported back to the event room.
• If you have managed to reach the right teleporter, you will be teleported to one of the assorted smaller chambers where you will have few second before entering the challange area again for another cycle.
• The next cycle works the same but will grant you less time to reach safety.
• This will continue for a given time.
• In the end, at least one participant has to reach safety.
• If no participant is left before the event ends, the event fails.
• A world needs a certain amount of successful events in order to succeed.
• Take notice of the changing floor tiles and the slimes, which will change your speed drastically.
• Also it's very recommended to use your best speed giving items (except for mounts which arent usable while using illusions). Check out this page for more information Speed.

• If you succeeded the race you will be teleported into the prize room :

The first time you are successful you will get a Shapeshifter Ring from a reward chest. Other times you finished the race you can ask Casper for your Reward. (You can also ask him directly after your first success.)

Notes:

• You can see which monster corresponds to which teleporter in the main room with the NPC. To participate, say "change" to the NPC Casper to get Shapechanger. you must be present in the room when the event starts. NO need to stand on carpet.
• If you get paralyzed by the slime puddles, it can't be removed by healing, you need to cast haste to remove the paralyze.
• In case you use the shapechanger more than once, keep an eye on server log to get info which monster you turns into, since info shown on screen is delayed when used more than once.

Rewards

• Shapeshifter Ring
• Reward box that looks like Present Box, changes into 4 - 16 Chameleon Runes, Time Ring, and possibly other items (like Boots of Haste) when used.
• Achievement "Master Shapeshifter", when you turned into every one of the available creature.
• Those Game Worlds that have finished this quest enough times will get increased respawn rates.
