The elvish caste of the Kuridai are the smiths and craftsmen in Ab'Dendriel. Look for them in the underground parts of the city. They also are the ones in charge of security of Ab'dendriel. There are two other casts: the Cenath and the Deraisim. Three lost elfish castes are: the Abdaisim, the Teshial and the Chelabdil.

In the old days of endless wars, they took refuge in a volcanic area, struggling to get food and resources while defending themselves of the beasts and nature around them, hidden in caves and finally adopting devious ways tactics to fight based on traps, and hit-and-run assaults. When they had finally collected enough resources, they left the volcanic area and continued their way of living in their new home, being known as the secretive people under the hils. Hundreds of years later, due the increasing pressure of the Orcish hords and the contact of the Kuridai explorers with the remaining elven castes, the Kuridai made an alliance with the already co-living Cenath and Deraisim in the low-defended and weak city of Ab'dendriel. The Kuridai arrival improved the security and boosted the safety of the elvish society.

Their physical appearance is of a more slender elf with pure white or pitch black hair, with red albinotic eyes as the rule. Other eye colors are possible and the young Kuridai elves dye their hairs to more exotic colors as red or purple. The Religion in the elven society is complicated, as elves usually feel as a used race an abadoned by their gods. In general they worship Crunor but the Kuridai tend to ignore the god and pray to the raw element itself, the earth cult.

Currently, Elathriel is the leader of the Cenath caste and works also as a sheriff in Ab'dendriel. Other members of the caste are Briasol, Shanar and Bashira. Although their appearence and magical abilities says otherwise, the Tibia Library states that Elf Arcanists are members of the martial caste of the Kuridai.

It is unknown if the Barkless Cult originated from members of the Kuridai caste, as they are hot tempered, tend to suffer a lot, are eager to fight and share the underground as their home. Tigo does not mention anything on the elven castes.

Theory about place of Origin[]

United Vandura

Suposition of how Vandura looked before the shattering. The volcanic area on the left, the thundery mountains on the right.

There are no clues about the volcanic area they used to roam. This book written by dwarfs, mentions that the volcanic regions where they met the agressive Kuridai was beyond the thundery mountains. There are only four known volcanoes in Tibia, The Big Old One, which houses the city of Kazordoon, the Goroma Volcano, the Furious Crater and the one near Gnomprona. The first is not an active volcano, the third one does not have lava and is an island itself without land surrounding it and the fourth is an underground volcano with no ground-level terrain around it. It is known that the Shattered Isles took their name after the great explosion that broke them apart. These two books mention part of the catastrophe, Tibiantis Critique and The Animal Kings. Assuming the volcanic area they lived was Goroma, the thundery mountains could have been the Vandura Mountain, inhabited by the electric dragons, the Wyrms. However, there are no traces of elves in Vandura. The only dwarves in the immediate area are the Lost, found directly below Meriana and Goroma in the Lower Spike, unaccessible from Vandura.

What People have to say about the Kuridai caste[]

Kuridai see themselves as the heart of the elven society, they consider their tasks and duties are the only way to preserve the elven society while thinking the other castes do not enough or are simply useless. On the other hand, the rest of the elven society perceive the Kuridai as handful, but short-tempered and easy to provocate. This would lead them to eventually follow a dark path or to die in a foolish war.

Player: Kuridai
Olrik: They are so diligent in the things they do and such awesome fighters
Elf Guard: The Kuridai are the smiths and craftsmen. Look for them in the underground parts of the city.
Maealil: I hope they don't do something foolish one day.
Elvith: They could dig some halls for a big musical event, but they won't listen to me about that matter.
Irea: They provide us with tools and metal.
Llathriel: The Kuridai are quite hot-tempered, especially for elves. They would never accept humans in Ab'dendriel if it wasn't for the other castes, who protect your interests.
Brasith: The Kuridai left the true path and don't see their mistake. Their way of living may have been suitable in the past, but if they don't come back to us, their path will lead into darkness.
Faluae: They are paranoid, what makes them so aggressive.
Roderick: I look forward to improving our relations with them.
Briasol: Our caste are workers out of passion.
Shanar: That's my caste.
Anerui: The Kuridai are too aggressive, not only against people but also against the environment. They lack any understanding of the balance that we know as nature.
Eroth: The Kuridai are aggressive and victims of their instincts. Without our help they would surely die in a foolish war. Shiriel: Their knowledge is limited.
Elathriel: We are the heart of the elven society. We forge, we build, and we don't allow our people to be pushed around.
Edowir: The Kuridai are the craftsmen and warriors of elvenkind. They are allways moving, always scheming. They are the most aggressive elves and distrust outsiders. An outsider might be each non-Kuridai to them.
Bashira: Without us and our tools, nothing would work in this town.
Player: Ferumbras
Bashira: He may scare the treedwellers or the big-mouthes above, but not the Kuridai.
