After deciding which vocation suits them best, they gain the [[Light]] spell and can enter a vocation-specific dungeon to test their newly acquired vocation. In the dungeons they will also find [[Equipment]] to start their mainland adventure off. [[Druid]]s, being primary healers, have an ever-lasting [[Intense Healing]] rune in their house, which they can use as much as they want.

Revision as of 14:17, 24 November 2018

The Island of Destiny was introduced in Update 8.2, and was designed as a place for new players to decide and get used to their chosen vocations. With the introduction of Dawnport in Updates/10.55, the Island of Destiny rarely gets visitors anymore since only very few players choose to reach main the traditional way (through Rookgaard). Players who have mastered Rookgaard (obtained level 8) can still ask The Oracle to visit the Island of Destiny. NPCs await those eager to venture in the mainland, and will give general information on vocations before they decide.

The Festival of Initiates was added with Update 9.8 to give players a chance to try out combat skills used by each vocation so they can better decide which one to choose. Players can participate in the Festival, or just walk through the tents ignoring them, or ask any NPC "skip tutorial".

Players then had to go to one of the four buildings and talk to the NPC there to get a vocation. After deciding which vocation suits them best, they gained the Light, Light Healing/Wound Cleansing, and Apprentice's Strike (for mages) spells, and can enter a vocation-specific dungeon to test their newly acquired vocation. In the dungeons they would also find Equipment to start off their mainland adventure. There is also an everlasting Intense Healing Rune on a table in the Druids' house, which is usable by all vocations as often as they want.

Items were regularly thrown on the floor of the isle, so you could make lootbags or pick up valuable items like Bows, Bear Paws and Wolf Paws that you could sell for good cash when arriving in main.
There's really no need to take your armor and weapons from Rookgaard to the Island of Destiny because you receive better armor and weapons once you choose your vocation from the chests in the vocation room. You can sell your armor and weapons before you leave Rookgaard to make extra cash.

If players die so that they are downgraded to level 5, they will get rooked just as if on mainland.

If players reach level 10 on the isle, they will get the message Congratulations to level 10! You should talk to Captain Kurt and head to the mainland now. and all the dungeons will become inaccessible, forcing you to leave the isle. If they choose not to leave, they will receive another message 5 minutes later, Please leave this dungeon now. Only players below level 10 may hunt here., If they wait 5 more minutes, they will be teleported out of the dungeon and receive the message You are ready for the mainland now. Talk to Captain Kurt and choose a city where you'd like to live in..

Players should keep in mind that they cannot take more than 2000 gold with them. 1000 gold on their bank accounts and 1000 gold in their backpacks. If you have more than 1000 gold in your backpack, Captain Kurt won't ship you to the mainland.

Near Captain Kurt, you can open a Chest (Quest) to obtain an Adventurer's Stone and New Hero (Book).

PvP (Player vs Player) is possible in the Island's dungeons, so watch out!

Knight Vocation

Equipment

Knights will obtain all the following equipment in the room below Knight Hykrion:

NameNotes
Soldier HelmetSoldier HelmetA cheap and good helmet that many level 10-15 players use. Next, players should buy a Dark Helmet or Steel Helmet. Knights can also get this helmet on the Island of Destiny and in Dawnport. Due to a bug, the helmet was also briefly brought to Rookgaard from Dawnport.
Brass ArmorBrass ArmorMost likely the first chest armor players get on Main. Part of the Brass Set. This can also be gotten by unrusting a Heavily Rusted Armor, Rusted Armor or Slightly Rusted Armor. Knights can also get this armor on the Island of Destiny and in Dawnport. Due to a bug, the armor was also briefly brought to Rookgaard from Dawnport.
Brass LegsBrass LegsPart of the Brass and Noob Set. Useful for lower levels. They can be gotten by unrusting Heavily Rusted Legs, Rusted Legs and Slightly Rusted Legs. Knights can also get these legs on the Island of Destiny and in Dawnport. Due to a bug, the legs were also briefly brought to Rookgaard from Dawnport. Can be obtained in the Troll Cave Quest.
Steel ShieldSteel ShieldIt was once the best shield known, dropped back then by Daemon.
This may be the first shield you get on Mainland, because you can buy it in a shop for a reasonable price. Knights can also get this shield in the Island of Destiny and in Dawnport. Due to a bug, the shield was also briefly brought to Rookgaard from Dawnport. Obtained in the Edron Goblin Quest.
Health PotionHealth PotionHeals the target for 125 to 175 hitpoints, an average of 150. The leftover empty potion flask can be sold back to the potion vendor for 5 gp. For comparisons of healing efficiency, see the GP/HP and the Cap/HP efficiency tables. Notice that you can only use this potion on yourself or another player, it doesn't work for summoned or wild creatures.

See Health Potions for further information

4 of them can be obtained from Gnomish Supply Packages.

and one of the following three weapons:

NameNotes
Jagged SwordJagged SwordObtainable in the cellar of the Knight Brotherhood villa on Island of Destiny, if you chose to join them. Knights can also get this sword in Dawnport. Due to a bug, the sword was also briefly brought to Rookgaard from Dawnport.
Daramian MaceDaramian MaceA player who joined in the knight vocation can choose this club in the attached cellar of the Island of Destiny. Often found lying around the Ankrahmun desert.
Steel AxeSteel AxeA player who joined in the knight vocation can choose this axe in the attached cellar of the Island of Destiny. Looks almost the same as a Ruthless Axe but with only one blade.

Druid Vocation

Equipment

Druids will obtain all the following equipment in the room below Druid Yandur:

NameNotes
Mage HatMage HatIt is part of the set given to new Sorcerers and Druids in the Island of Destiny and in Dawnport. Used by a lot of mages under level 200 because it is the only mage-exclusive helmet with 2 imbuing slots under said level, which means it can be imbued with Powerful Epiphany (all mage helmets with native Magic level give up to +2), while the second slot can be used for Powerful Void.
Magician's RobeMagician's RobeIt is given to Sorcerers and Druids in the Island of Destiny and in Dawnport.
SpellbookSpellbookYou don't need to carry your spellbook with you all the time, it isn't necessary to have a spellbook to cast a spell. It does, however, tell you which spells you have, as well as the mana and the words needed to cast each spell. The spell words can also be found at the official web site, at the ingame Spell List or on the Spells page. It looks the same as an Almanac of Magic, Nature Magic Spellbook and Spellbook of Dragha. It has been made somewhat redundant by the Flash Client's ability to list a character's known spells.

Obtainable through the Elvenbane Quest, Ornamented Shield Quest and daily spawn on the top of the Senja Castle.
Sorcerers require a spellbook for The Desert Dungeon Quest.

See also: Spellbook (Alternative)
Snakebite RodSnakebite RodThe druid's equivalent of the sorcerer's Wand of Vortex and the lowest-levelled rod available on the mainland. A rather ineffective weapon, as a lot of monsters, even the weakest, are resistant or outright immune to earth damage. Snakebite Rods replaced Golden Wand Golden Wands in the Winter Update 2005. Needed for Mage Outfits Quest(male) and Summoner Outfits Quest(female).
Mana PotionMana PotionIt has a 5 gp deposit. It regenerates 75 to 125 mana with an average of 100 mana.

There are many opinions whether Life Rings are more efficient than Ring of Healing, Manafluids or Mana Potions. See the GP/MP and the Cap/MP efficiency tables for more information.

4 of them can be obtained from Gnomish Supply Packages.

Paladin Vocation

Equipment

Paladins will obtain all the following equipment in the room below Paladin Narai:

NameNotes
Ranger's CloakRanger's CloakThe first chest item Paladins receive on the Isle of Destiny. It can also be bought in the mainland from Rudolph on Edron.
Ranger LegsRanger LegsThere was a rumor that they had been obtained on Elysia many years ago but it's not confirmed (The image used for the Ranger legs is the same used for Dragon Scale Legs from earlier years of Tibia, confirmed by Degerdi who owned a pair on Nova before 2004). This item is obtained by choosing Paladin vocation on the Island of Destiny (it is looted from a chest in the reward room underneath Paladin Narai). They are somewhat a rarity on mainland, since they cannot be bought from NPC's.
BowBowHas a range of 6 square tiles and is used to fire a variety of Ammunition. Bows are often used as a lootbag item because they are very valuable. Can be obtained through the Dead Archer Quest.
SpearSpearYou need a spear to create an Enchanted Spear. Spears will break about 3.075% of the time. Break percentage was tested on training dummies for multiple hours, so it should be accurate.

Once the paladin meets level requirements, spears should be discarded in favour of employing far superior Hunting Spears.

Looks the same as a Mean Paladin Spear and a Giant Screwdriver.
ArrowArrowArrows are projectiles, fired out of a Bow, they are used mainly by Paladins. Paladins can make 10 of them by casting the Conjure Arrow spell (1 soul point spent).

Can be obtained in Rookgaard through the Minotaur Hell Quest and Bear Room Quest.

12 of these are needed for The Postman Missions Quest.
Health PotionHealth PotionHeals the target for 125 to 175 hitpoints, an average of 150. The leftover empty potion flask can be sold back to the potion vendor for 5 gp.
