The present Head Gamemaster of Tibia is Alguzara. This is a paid job of CipSoft GmbH and the main duty is supervision of all the volunteer Gamemasters.
The Head Gamemaster, as a Community Manager, has more powers than the average Gamemaster.
All GMs must report to him for special assignments and with special case interests which need guidance or approval from CipSoft.
History
When CIP first implemented Wizards, the original Gamemaster, CipSoft themselves supervised their workers. As the community grew so did the volunteer aid. The name changed to Gamemaster and soon there were two ranks, the higher being a Senior Gamemaster. Initially all GMs were volunteers and Seniors simply had more experience and more trust. A further split was made that Senior GMs were only the paid staff. Eventually all volunteers were just Gamemasters and paid staff became Community Managers.
