You see Giant Spider

Notes

The giant spider is one of the most feared and famous of the stronger monsters, mainly because of its locations. Before recent updates the Giant Spider was unexpectable, commonly being lured to Venore and the roads near it. It was commonly found in places one would never expect to find such a beast, and as a result many unprepared players died daily. Now, it is but a shadow of its former glory and tends to poof into smoke while being run in the plains of havoc. The Giant Spider's Boss is The Old Widow.

Location

Plains of Havoc, Edron Hero Cave, Hellgate, Mintwallin, Mount Sternum underground, Near Green Claw Swamp in Venore, Maze of Lost Souls, on a hill near Darashia; only accessable by using parcels or the levitate spell to get on the hill, on a hill north-west of Ankrahmun (not huntable), deep in the Kazordoon Dwarf Caves, Forbidden Lands, Forbidden Islands, Ghostlands.

Strategy

The blocker should stand between the Giant Spider and the shooters, if possible. This makes retargeting less likely. Seeing as GS's seem to enjoy changing targets the blocker should have Challenge if premium. While blocking you should also kill the poison spiders so they don't break your shield.

Knights can easily solo these at lvl 40+ by just standing and using hmm runes, or just running around and using hmm's. Knights can also use melee to kill them, although not recommended and usually at the expense of massive amounts of UH runes.

Paladin strategy is simple, with around level 50 and Boots of Haste you just run and shoot bolts at it. If you have Haste, you can start hunting at level 35.

Mages can either run away with (strong) haste and shoot it with HMM runes or they can just stand in front of it, putting their mana shield on and using exori vis to kill it. Mages should at least reach level 45-50 before trying this. Mages should try their first solo at the GS at the Darashia hill. If you have level 45~, you won't need mana shield. Just use exura sio or exura vita when you're a sorcerer with exori vis and your strongest energy wand/rod. Some mages at this spawn, if they are able to time things correctly can stand on the parcels, wait for the giant spider to leave the top of the screen, go up and shoot a spell as weak as energy field at the giant spider, then quickly jump back down the parcels before the spider reaches them. Levels as low as 18 can do this after making a backpack of energy field runes.
