Fishing is the process of using a fishing rod and worms to obtain fish from a body of water. To fish, simply use a fishing rod on an above ground body of water while holding worms.

Fishing is also the skill in Tibia which controls how many tries are needed to catch a fish. To increase your fishing skill, fish. You must fish with worms, and you must fish in a place that has not been fished out. Each square has a fish in it, and after you have caught it, another fish cannot be caught in that square until it has respawned. An area which has been fished out has had either all or most of the squares fished, and the area must regenerate before new fish can be caught there.

Note: Since last update, you can hotkey items. Hotkey your rods, people!

Hint: When you are fishing, you gain experience in the skill every time you make a try in a fishing spot on the water until you catch the fish. Therfore, you can cast in the same spot continually until you get the fish, gaining experience the whole time. Working in a grid across the body of water is best. This will prevent fishing spots in which you have already caught fish, and increase the time you can spend standing in the same spot on the shore.
