It is not possible to enchant gems and weapons since Summer Update 2017.
Enchanting was the action of bestowing a melee weapon with elemental forces through magic. You could enchant a weapon with ice, earth, fire or energy. To enchant a weapon you needed a weapon that was enchantable, e.g. a Spike Sword, and an enchanted gem. The colors of the gems match the element they produce. Gems could be enchanted on Holy Shrines.
Level 30+ Premium Druids can make:
- Small Sapphires into Small Enchanted Sapphires (ice) →
- Small Emeralds into Small Enchanted Emeralds (earth) →
Level 30+ Premium Sorcerers can make:
- Small Rubies into Small Enchanted Rubies (fire) →
- Small Amethysts into Small Enchanted Amethysts (energy) →
Enchanting gems would always cost 300 mana and 2 soul points. Mana used for enchanting a gem counted towards your Magic Level, just like casting a spell does.
To enchant a weapon you had to use the enchanted gem on it. The weapon would now have 1000 charges with which it would do a reduced amount of physical damage plus some elemental damage. A Spike Sword for example has 24 attack, but when enchanted this was reduced to 20 attack and 4 elemental damage. Note that only one type of enchanting could be active on a weapon at a time.
