Ebb and Flow is one of the areas accessed through Zarganash. It is among the most challenging areas in Tibia due to the strength of the creatures, their ability to Fear you, and the map design, which often forces players to fight more than a dozen creatures at once.

The map in this area alternates every 2 minutes between flooded and drained states (hence its name). When the water is up, players can use rafts to move between islands on the top floor, and it's not possible to walk outside the buildings on the bottom floor. If a character is outside a building when the water rises, they will be teleported to the entrance or moved to the closest island if standing on a raft. Additionally, if a character is on a raft when the water recedes, they will "fall" to the bottom floor. All islands have "holes" that send players downstairs to the buildings, but these are one-way only. To leave the buildings, players must use the doors, which is only possible when the water is down.

To safely navigate this map, it is highly recommended that at least one team member uses a 2-minute timer running in a loop synchronized with the water movement. When the water is about to change, the entire team should be aware so they can act accordingly, especially if the goal is to be teleported to an island, to the entrance, or something similar.

Three of the four creatures in this area can use Fear (only Turbulent Elementals cannot). Fear is a Status Condition where a character will start running away from creatures for 3 seconds, unable to stop or change direction until this time has passed. When feared, a character cannot use any spells but can still use items such as runes and potions. One way to handle Fear is to throw bomb runes (such as Fire Bombs), as it will prevent your character from moving over them when feared.

Besides the loss of control over your character, being feared is also very risky on the upper floor of this place, as characters can be feared into jumping down one of the holes with no way to return using the same path, or even feared to a different island via multiple rafts just as the water is about to recede. These events can separate team members, forcing them to survive full spawns and figure out a way to regroup.
