Drunk is a Special Condition that hinders character movement.
Whenever you drink alcohol in Tibia, you will get drunk. You will also get drunk when staying in the Fire Elemental cave entered during The Repenters Quest for too long. While being drunk you will have the drunkenness icon on your status bar.
Drunkenness makes it harder to control your movement. Randomly when trying to move, you will walk in another direction. When this happens, the word "Hicks!" will appear above your character. Being drunk while fighting creatures can result in severe injuries, or even death.
Some creatures can also induce drunkenness, some more severely than others. Djinns, Wyverns, Voodoo Cultists, Dworc Voodoomasters and Warzone creatures in particular cause very severe drunkenness.
There is a limit to the amount of alcohol a character can absorb by drinking: the drunk effect will last for at most 10 minutes from the last sip. For example, a Mug of Beer will make the character drunk for 2 minutes, and drinking more than 5 mugs in quick succession will not make it drunk for much longer than 10 minutes. However, it is yet to be determined whether this limit applies when the drunkness is caused by creatures.
To protect against the effects of drunkenness, one can wear a Dwarven Ring which lasts for an hour. However, you will still be intoxicated so you cannot simply remove it and should always wear the ring when you expect to get drunk.
Superdrunk[]
There's a special type of Drunkenness called Superdrunk. When Superdrunk, you cannot remove the status even by using a Dwarven Ring, and must wait until it wears off. The situations in which it's possible to get Superdrunk include:
- On the Orcsoberfest Island by using a Super Cask.
- In the Tibiadrome when the modifier Tanked Up is enabled. In case you get superdrunk in the drome all damage taken is increased by 10%.
- When fighting Doctor Marrow.
- When eating a Demon Root as part of Podzilla Quest
