Few secrets of ancient necromancy are darker than the creation of Crypt Fiends, only possible through bargains with entities beyond the veil. Their hulking frames bristle with jagged, horn-like protrusions and are crowned with skulls marked by jutting tusks. They exude malice, a palpable aura of evil and a tangible hatred that clings to the air and corrodes the will of the living. Their attacks are brutal, their resilience formidable, and their very presence inspires dread. The method of their creation has long been lost, known only to the eldest bonelords. Some believe it required the sacrifice of entire tribes to forge even a single Crypt Fiend. When one appears, it is a sure sign that the soil has been disturbed by the most forbidden rites. Even among the undead, these creatures are seen as aberrations, feared weapons whose loyalty lies not with their summoner, but with the pulse of undeath itself. Disturbingly, some believed lost to the ages have endured the ravages of time, entombed in stone and buried in cursed ground, waiting to be unearthed by the foolish, the desperate or the damned, that disturb their unholy slumber.
