Combat Controls is a section of the Tibia client that offers options that affect Combat Movement, Mounting, Secure Mode, Combat Mode, PVP Mode, and the ability to Stop all character actions.
It is located on the right sidebar of both the C++ Client (original) and the Flash Client by default.
Controls[]
The Combat Controls are grouped together with the Inventory and both can be moved vertically on the sidebar but cannot be disabled. You can select for Offensive , Balanced , or Defensive fighting. Also you can choose to Stand While Fighting or Chase Opponent . As well you can enable Safe Mode where you cannot directly attack another character. Lastly click to stop a character from all present actions
Combat Mode[]
- (off/on) in Offensive Mode your character tries to hit a victim as much as possible, but his defence is weaker.
- (off/on) in Balanced Mode (default mode) attack and defense skills of your character are evenly divided.
- (off/on) in Defensive Mode your character tries to defend himself against his attacker as much as possible, but his possibility to deal a hit is lower.
You can only choose one mode at the same time.
When you switch the above modes during battle, it takes one round (2 seconds) to be effective, and in this period your character doesn't strike the opponent.
Combat Movement[]
- (off/on) in Stand While Fighting mode your character stands during the battle. This mode is useful for attacking your victim from the distance.
- (off/on) in Chase Opponent mode your character tries to get as close to his victim as possible in the battle. This mode is useful for melee fighting (eg. for Knights).
You can only choose one mode at the same time.
Depending on your Auto Chase Off option settings, if it's turned on, if you move your character during battle it will automatically switches the mode to Stand While Fighting. In contrast, when this option is turned off, immediately after you release the Arrow key after your movement, your character tries to get close to his victim again (thus Chase Opponent mode stays active).
Secure Mode[]
- in Secure Mode your character cannot attack any player that is not marked by any skull. However it doesn't prevent by attack with spells (like GFB etc.).
- in Normal Mode your character can attack another players, independently of having skulls by them or not. Note that excessive killing other players on regular PvP (but not on PvP-enforced) worlds and can lead to punishments (see Skull System).
These modes have effect only on Open PvP worlds.
PVP Mode[]
- (off/on) in Dove Mode your character can only attack or block other characters that have attacked you.
- (off/on) in White Hand Mode your character can only attack or block other characters that have attacked you or members of your party or guild.
- (off/on) in Yellow Hand Mode your character can only attack or block skulled characters that are not in your party or guild.
- (off/on) in Red Fist Mode your character can attack or block all characters except those in your party or guild. Black Skulls cannot use this mode. This is only mode available on Hardcore PvP.
