Charles also offers shortcuts to a few destinations which are cheaper. However, you might get shipwrecked and end up in a different place when using them. These locations are:
- An island west of the Meluna, here, as part of The Secret Library Quest. After using the ship's telescope (during night) and getting the Hawser (Item) from the heap of rubbish, use the hawser on the raft and you will get sent to Fibula.
- A small island, part of the Ice Islands, here, where you can find Arctic Fauns. You can leave the island through the Ice Portal, which brings you to Vega, north of Carlin, north of Thais, Fibula or the south shore of Ragnir.
- A small island north of Feyrist, here, where you can face Raxias when going in the teleporter. You get sent to Carlin's temple after using the Energy Shrine there.
- A small island in the middle of the three Laguna Islands, here. You will find a dead human. Use it to gain a shovel. You can use that shovel on a hole next to it. Below, you find a small cave with a seashell and a dead explorer, in which you can find a Fishing Rod. There is some water inside the cave where you can fish in. You can leave this island by walking on the turtle, which will bring you to Meriana. If you don't have access to Meriana yet, you will need to have a fish in your backpack for the turtle, which you can loot from the crab on the island or catch with the fishing rod and worms. Worms can be dug up from the sand by using the shovel.
After shipwrecking on one of these locations, you cannot use the shortcut from Charles for 20 hours.
