The term Celestial Paladins is used by both elves and dwarves, but bears different meanings for each race.
Elves[]
Seven elven lords aquired the status of Celestial Paladins and therefore are godlike beings. Worshipping them is a very personal matter in elven society. It is certain that different high lords are more prominent in different elven castes, but prayers and interpretation of the high lords is only shared on family level at best. Usually each elf finds his own approach to some of the high lords, completely ignoring the other ones.

Dwarves[]
In dwarvish society, Durin is venerated as a god. Emperor Kruzak and Kawill describe Durin as "one of the celestial paladins" and "the celestial paladin", respectively. He is described as the protector of the dwarvish race by both.
