Blessings can be obtained by players to reduce the amount of experience, skills and items forfeited in death. They are available on all Game Worlds (including Hardcore PvP game worlds since Update 8.53).
There are a total of 8 blessings. Their names and location where they are obtained follow:
- The Spiritual Shielding, south of Thais (NPC Norf, here). You may also get it by using a Spiritual Charm.
- The Embrace of Tibia, north of Carlin (Humphrey, here). You may also get it by using a Unity Charm.
- The Fire of the Suns, just below Ab'Dendriel (Edala, here). You may also get it by using a Twin Sun Charm.
- The Wisdom of Solitude, on Eremo's Island (Eremo, here). You may also get it by using a Solitude Charm.
- The Spark of the Phoenix, inside Kazordoon (entrance). You will get a 10% price discount if you have a Phoenix Egg in your inventory. For this to work, you have to have completed the Paradox Tower Quest (you don't need to have picked the Phoenix Egg as a reward, so you can get it from another player). This blessing has two parts: the life-giving earth (Kawill, here) and the mark of the flame (Pydar, here). You may also get it by using a Phoenix Charm.
- Blessing of the Inquisition, in Thais (Henricus, entrance). Here you can buy all 5 blessings at once if you have completed The Inquisition Quest (even if you don't have Premium Time running at that moment). This will cost you 10% more than buying all blessing separately.
- Twist of Fate, at any Temple NPC. Protects your regular blessings, in case you die in PvP fight.
- Adventurer's Blessing, which is a special blessing, as it cannot be bought anywhere. With the introduction of Dawnport in Update 10.55, all newly created characters on Open PvP worlds will automatically receive this blessing. It will protect them from death through player killing either until they reach level 21 or attack another player. In addition, all already existing players who were below level 21 at the time of the update with no player kill in their history also received this blessing.
Note: The Wisdom of Solitude is the only blessing requiring a premium account, all other blessings can be bought by Free Account players as well.
Second note: You can obtain every regular blessing with 1000 gp off if you do the Pilgrimage of Ashes Quest. This can only be done once.
Third note: Blessings can also be purchased with Tibia Coins via the Tibia Store. Buying all blessings at once costs 80 coins; just Twist of Fate is 8 coins and the others are 15 coins each.
After death a character loses all blessings, except if the character was blessed with the Twist of Fate and is killed by other players (only Twist of Fate will be lost then). You can check which blessings you have already bought using a Ceremonial Ankh or an Ornamented Brooch.
The safest and fastest way to buy all blessings if you don't have the possibility to buy the Blessing of the Inquisition is as follows:
- First go to the White Flower Temple south of Thais and buy Spiritual Shielding from Norf.
- Then take the boat to Edron to Cormaya and from Cormaya to Eremo's Island to buy the Wisdom of Solitude from Eremo.
- After that, take the Steamship to Kazordoon and buy the Spark of the Phoenix in two parts, first from Kawill, then from Pydar.
- From there take the Ore Wagon to North exit and walk to Ab'Dendriel to buy the Fire of the Suns from Edala at the Suntower.
- After That Walk to Carlin and talk to Humphrey to buy the Embrace of Tibia
If you prefer saving some money, you should start in Edron, travel to Cormaya by boat or through Edron Rotworm Cave, from there to Eremo's Island and buy the Wisdom of Solitude. Go back to Edron and take the Magic Carpet to Femor Hills. Walk to Carlin and buy the Embrace of Tibia; then walk to Ab'Dendriel and buy the Fire of the Suns. From there walk to Kazordoon and buy the Spark of the Phoenix. Finally, go to the White Flower Temple and buy Spiritual Shielding.
For Yalahar residents a good and fast route is Yalahar -> Carlin (1 blessing) -> Ab'Dendriel (1 blessing) -> Edron -> Cormaya -> Eremo (1 blessing) -> Cormaya, use Steamship -> Kazordoon, use Ore Wagons (1 blessing in two parts) -> Cormaya -> Edron -> Thais (1 blessing) -> Yalahar. You'll need 1225 gp travel money to cover for all Boat and Steamship and Ore Wagon fees.
Experience and Skill loss
Each Blessing reduces your experience and skill loss by 8%.
A character up to level 24 loses 10% in a death, a character 25+ loses $ (level+50)/100 $ levels when they die. After that calculated how much Experience that is of his total level. This number is the base reduction, this is how many % of your skills you will lose, and from this number is also calculated the reduction from blessings and promotion. Promoting your character will decrease the loss by 30%.
Example: A level 100 loses 4.5% of their total Experience without promotion. With promotion they would lose 3.15% ($ 4.5*(1-0.3) $). Each blessing will decrease the loss by 8% ($ previousLoss*(1-0.08) $ for each blessing.
1 blessing by 30%: this will reduce your equipment being lost to 7%, for a container it will be reduced to 70%.
2 blessings by 55%: 4.5% chance of dropping equipment, 45% chance of dropping a container.
3 blessings by 75%: 2.5% chance to drop equipment, 25% chance of dropping a container.
4 blessings by 90%: 1% chance to drop any piece of equipment, 10% to drop a container.
5 blessings will give full protection against item loss.
Note: A red skulled player will not have any protection against item loss and will still pay full price for all blessings.
The price of blessings is a function of level, defined in piecewise fashion:
- If level is less than or equal to 30, the price of each blessing is 2,000 gold (10,000 total)
- If level is greater than 30 and less than 120, the price of each blessing is 2,000 plus 200 for each level above 30. That is, $ 2000 + 200(L - 30) $. This simplifies to $ 200(L-20) $ thus you can derive a number by subtracting 20 from your level and multiplying by 1,000 (for all 5 blessings)
- If level is greater or equal to 120, each blessing will be constant at 20,000 gold (100,000 for all).
The quickest way for players of level 30 and up to find out how much is needed in total for the 5 regular blessings is to simply subtract 20 from your level, and you get the amount in thousands of gold needed.
Example for a level 75 player: $ 75 - 20 = 55 $, hence, 55000 gold in total for all 5 regular blessings.
The table below shows the blessings in each price, full blessing and full blessings including the twist of fate bless. Prices are displayed in gps.
|Level||Each Bless||Full Bless||Full Bless
and Twist of Fate
|1 to 30||2,000||10,000||12,000|
After level 120, all blessings are the same price. Twist of Fate, however, increases in price until level 270 where it costs 50,000 gold.
Blessers can bless you for a small fee, protecting you from devastating losses upon death.
