Method[]

Mission 1 - The Wrath of the Kahn[]

Go to the central Orc camp in the center of Zao Steppes, and find the minotaur guard leader, Curos, in the north-east section of the camp. Curos will give you the mission to infiltrate the north-western Zao Orc Land and kill a rebel, the Renegade Orc.

Go to the north-western part of the Zao Steppe to reach the Zao Orc Land. Follow the path through the mountain to reach the last ramp (here) and go up. Along the east side of the mountain, look for a mountain to levitate up. It is concealed below the floor above, but if you hug the eastern side of the mountain you will see it. Levitate up and follow the mountain behind a bamboo fortress. Use your melee weapon on the damaged part of the wall until it breaks. Walk through and go downstairs. Go south-west and find the next ramp. Go down and then south-east to find a sealed door. Find the resistance leader, Renegade Orc, in the room and kill him.

While you are here, it is recommended to get the Tome of Knowledge on the floor below. Go north from the ramp to find the entrance to the underground. From the ramp below, go north and west at the first chance you get to reach the room with the tome (here). You should only fight Orc Leaders, Orc Berserkers and smaller Orcs at the ramp and a lone Orc Warlord where the chest is. Get the Tome of Knowledge and leave.

Now report back to Curos. You will receive no reward from Curos for this mission but you have proven yourself worthy to the orcs.

Mission 2 - The Maw of the Dragon[]

Note: to save time, it is recommended to do this alongside The New Frontier Quest, Mission 07: Messengers Of Peace.

Ask Curos for a further mission. He will instruct you to find the entrance to the underground lizard base and destroy a magical scrying device. Go north through the small slits in the mountain and find the only rope hole on the surface within the Dragonblaze Peaks (here). Rope up twice but beware that Dragon Lords may shoot you from other mountains. Go south-east and follow the mountain to the other side. Go down the ramp and north-west to find a Large Hole. Open the hole and drop down. From here on you will face strong High Class Lizards. Open the hole and go down to 1 Lizard Legionnaire. Kill it and go down again to 1-3 Lizard High Guards. Fight your way through the hallways to reach the stairs. Go down to 1 Lizard High Guard and enter the sealed door a little west of the stairs.

You are now in the basement of the tower. You must ascend to the top of the tower and break the Scrying Ball. The tower is very small and has little room to run. Each floor has the following monsters:

When you reach the peak of the tower, use the Scrying Ball to destroy it. While here, you might want to open the chest next to it for a Tome of Knowledge.

If you wish, you may continue further in the underground dungeon for The New Frontier Quest mission, or you can leave the way you came. Either way, report to Curos to receive a Tome of Knowledge.

Curos Daily Tasks[]

After completing Curos' 2 missions, you may request additional tasks for him. These are simple tasks that can be completed once per 20 hours. The 20 hour counter starts counting when you turn in your task. He will give out a task at random, and will reward you with experience and gold.

Task 1 - Milk Delivery[]

Curos may ask for a Bucket of Milk. Buy a Bucket from any equipment shopkeeper and Milk from a specialist food store. Use the milk on the bucket to change the containers. Bring the bucket of milk back to Curos.

Reward: 800 experience, 650 gp and The Milkman achievement.

Task 2 - To Feed a Beast[]

Curos sends you to retrieve a Crocodile Steak from a Killer Caiman. Travel to Muggy Plains and kill a Killer Caiman. Then use an Obsidian Knife to obtain a Crocodile Steak. You might have to kill a few Killer Caimans before you get a steak. Report back to Curos with the Crocodile Steak to complete the task.

Reward: 1800 experience and 2250 gp.

Task 3 - Honour The Dead[]

Curos sends you to meditate on the Master Grave. You must stand on the grave on the northern side of the Dragonblaze Peaks (here) to complete the task.

Reward: 1100 experience and 1000 gp.

Task 4 - Foul Spirits[]

Curos sends you to appease a tree spirit in an infested grove to the east by using a Wooden Flute. You should stand on the sqm in front of the tree spirit (with blood spot - here) when using the flute. There's a chance of failing. If you fail, 2 Haunted Treelings or 2 Carniphilas will spawn. Kill the spawned creatures and wait for the tree spirit to calm down (it has to return to its initial form), then try playing the flute again. Sometimes you will be Cursed for 20 turns (300 total damage).

You will receive a red message once you have appeased the tree spirit. Report back to Curos to turn in the task.

Reward: 1400 experience and 750 gp.
