You see a snake

Notes

Snakes live in the grasslands and forests of Tibia where they hunt small animals. Their tactic is to hide in the grass and pop up when a victim approaches. Relying on their poisonous bite they even attack humans when they feel cornered.

A snake is a weak monster that can envenom others with its bite. The poison condition inflicted by snakes does about 15 damage total which is something to watch out for for lower levels. They are also summoned by Orc Shamans. Some players use the snakes summoned by Orc Shamans for training. They Trap the Orc Shaman in a way he cannot shoot any magic missiles at them and then basically have an endless supply of constantly spawning snakes. Lizard Snakecharmers drop Dead Snakes as loot.

Behaviour

Doesn't run when in low health.

A snake attacks in melee range.

Strategy

Snakes are very weak monsters; they have the weakest defense. Even with fist fighting skill 10, you can kill a snake rather easily. Just be aware of the damage poison might do when you're fighting a snake at a lower level.

History

Convince

As of November 16, 2011, Snakes as well as other poison-causing creatures can no longer be convinced. This was to prevent PvP abuse whereby a player would trick another player into convincing creatures that would later frag low level characters with poison applied earlier. After enough kills the player would obtain a Red Skull and would lose all items belonging to them upon being killed. More can be read in the news article "Content Fixes".

Resistances

As of update 9.8, snakes are no longer immune to Earth Damage. This was changed per player suggestion because new Druids cannot harm a snake with their Snakebite Rod.

Loot

  • This creature drops no loot.
